With Open Arms

But Wait There’s More

6

This week we had Arv and Luxy joining us in Ulduar so not only was it a lot quicker but we managed to get to Yogg without much effort. Along the way we completed a couple of achievements that Cool and I had been missing so that was exciting and was just 1sec off from getting the speed kill with Arv tanking and me healing.

Cool was a bit worried about doing this achievement but I was just hoping he would grab me first. Unfortunately, he grabbed both Cool and Lux leaving me to DPS as Disc. I didn’t think we would make it when they both died but then Lux popped and ended up dying again after being grabbed a second time. However, I was somewhat surprised when he failed to grab me – even though he tried three or four times – but after the first attempt, I worked out he couldn’t if I was being hit by the beams so I didn’t move the whole fight. Seemed to be just the trick because Kologarn died just as he grabbed me in the last few secs. Cool was hoping I would join the death crew though… so mean :P

For Hodir we were going to try two achievements but it seemed to be Getting (a bit too) Cold in Here so I’m glad we managed to get one done at least. We also attempted a few others but it didn’t happen for one reason or another. On the other hand, it was exciting to see the fragments dropping like candy which is unlike all the other raids I’ve been to and helped with. By the time we reached Yogg, the event started without bringing any of the Keepers down so it was pretty messy by the end of it.

On the second attempt, Arv and I were grabbed by tentacles, while Luxy became MC’ed and Cool was inside his brain. All-in-all it was a nice and fast run so thx again to my two friends for joining us today. I can’t tell you how nice it was to get that far in one sitting and also to Coolidge who has been with me every step of the way. :D

Eight to go!

Yesterday I collected my last Secret of the Empire from the Throne of Thunder so that meant I could hand in my quest to Wrathion and complete a really cool part of the legendary chain. I won’t go into too much detail as I was asked not to spoil it for someone but I’ll just say that the solo scenario in the Thunder Forge was really exciting and more challenging than I expected.

I did stop to admire the Celestial Defender as long as I could but as I said, this was the most exciting bit about the next two steps in the chain. The next quest involved interacting with Nalak so I originally thought that I would need to wait for a raid kill to complete the Spirit of the Storm Lord but after I found out you can just do the quest solo, I headed over there. A few Alliance players were hanging around at the time so may have wondered what I was doing as I rode in and aggroed him but the next thing you knew his essence started following me around. All I had to do was kite the essence around a bit while I bubble ran around the square. About five seconds later, the quest was complete.

When you head back to Wrathion, he asks you to return to Masons Folly so he can create your legendary meta but not without a few more warnings from Anduin about Wrathion’s true intentions. But for now, it’s nice to see some more interaction between the two of them.

Earlier today, Cool and I stepped back into Ulduar after clearing past the first few bosses several days ago and cleared all the way to the cat lady. However, we skipped Hodir since he takes a bit of time to do, even after our pretty flawless effort last time. Instead, we made our way to Thorim (which we previously ran on hard mode) and Freya which was a new one as a duo so it was great to add another boss to the run. Unfortunately, I forgot to pick up the items for the key (even though I don’t technically need it any more) but I love completing new quests. So far I’ve only handed in Freya’s one so I just need to remember the others on future visits.

Best of all, I managed to walk out with three fragments and my tier legs so I’m just missing my shoulder token. I’m also past the half way mark for creating Val’anyr. I can’t wait to do more and start my challenge modes finally but that’s another story.

After my successful run in Ulduar the other day, I was quite psyched to go in again, hoping to at least walk out with one. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen – though we cleared all the way to Hodir – but we did manage to complete a couple of achievements, including the last one we needed for council.

Stormcaller

Waiting for Auriaya to come around, we had a clammin’ good time. Once the fight started, Cool suggested we give Nine Lives a try which proved pretty easy.

Hodir proved harder than the rest though so we left it there last time.

Hodir

Today I was excited to walk out with three – talk about making up for last week. We called it a day after Kologarn.
