After weeks of farming the Throne of Thunder raid, my off-hand finally dropped from the Iron Qon. I had been using a 516 staff that came from my first heroic scenario bag but I decided to use that for my shadow weapon instead. The off-hand I had at the time left a lot to be desired so going from a 476 to a 502 item was a welcome change. I also managed to get Torall, Rod of the Shattered Throne last week so it made a nice set.
Then after my experience with the Celestial Blessings scenario a week ago, I decided to go into the raid as Disc and was pleased to see myself getting back into the swing of things. For a while I was switching my focus between haste, mastery and crit because I couldn’t quite find what was right for me. As I said before, I’ve been playing a lot more shadow these days but after today, I’m feeling a bit better about the state of things.
Straight after the raid, we headed over to Ulduar with one fragment drop from FL. Cat Lady also dropped the mace I’ve been eyeing so it turned out to be a pretty special day.
Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings.
A couple of days ago I told you about my trip into Ulduar as a furry beast. This time, it was back to normal with a bit of a different agenda. Since we didn’t need anything from Ignis or Razorscale we skipped them, working our way a little bit further than last time.
Once again here’s a quick pictorial of our kills.
As we waited for Auriaya to come back around, I took the opportunity to take a few pics and going back to Disc for the fight.
I spy with my little eye…
Heading towards Hodir, I had a brief incident with a pack of worms proving one snow mound can still be detrimental to one’s health. Cool managed to join me afterwards and made quick work of them. I initially tried Hodir as Disc but we managed to hit his enrage timer so I ended up going shadow again which resulted in his demise.
We ended the raid with a new mace for myself and a shield for Cool.
A little bit later, I headed over to Kara to try and farm my belt again (since I traded it in for a free slot a while ago).
While we waited for the Big Bad Wolf, I took a shot of our new toys.
Unfortunately, no luck with the belt today so I guess I’ll be back next week.
A full clear of Dragon Soul yesterday meant we had the whole afternoon to do some old raiding. We were going to see how many turned up to do some Guild credit runs for the older raids but only had seven on so we headed over to Ulduar to do some 25 raiding.
A couple of attempts at Algalon with our partial group of eight proved quite difficult on 25. We eventually had another go with our group of nine getting Algalon down with some new titles for some.
By the time we got to Kologarn we had nine in the raid. One extra person really does make the difference as we breezed through the other bosses pretty quickly; even doing a few on Hard mode. It also helps when one of our healers doesn’t get locked out for the Iron Council fight :P
Ulduar is still one of my favourite raids in the game. The fights were so varied and technical back then. Nowadays, you can pretty much ignore a lot of the strategy involved. There are still a few items I have been coveting in there for transmog purposes but sadly none of those dropped today.
Yogg proved to be too much on 25 so we did set it back to 10 for that. Even with several switcheroos, we managed to clear the place a little past our regular time allocated. Although, I don’t think the few who hadn’t done the fights before minded, as well as the bevy of achievements to go around. The transmog gear was another perk but I have to admit, the most exciting thing for me was that I was three steps closer to getting Val’anyr! This brings my total to seven. I know I have a long way to go but with the help of my friends and Guildies I know it will happen eventually.
