TNB Round Table

Last night, Hydra invited me to be on the Twisted Nether Blogcast again for this Sunday’s Round Table concerning Patch 5.0.4. It will start at 8pm PST (or 1pm AEST on Mon) so I hope to see a familiar name or two. Stoppableforce, Serenitysaz and Jedsblog will also be there so it’s sure to be a good one. I’ll have to see if Hydra mispronounces my name again :P

To participate in the live show, just go to the TNB Live Show page or the Ustream page. Too easy!

On a side note, around the same time I had lost access to my blog email account at Gmail due to ‘suspicious behaviour’. Not sure what kind that was but I did manage to get back in later that night.

Discussion topics on the day:

Stuff in 5.0.4
Account Wide Achievements, pets and mounts
AoE Looting
New Talents
Profession Changes (really only glyphs)
Changed old Instances
Zone merge
Time Zone (Event time vs. PST. )
Queue for PVP and PVE

Item Changes
Spell Penetration -> PvP Power
No head Enchants…
No Relics, ranged and thrown
No minimum range

UI Changes
Mounts Pets
Buffs consolidation
Loot results frame
Vendor Filtering
Spellbook changes
Dungeon Journal?

No wonder it was over 3 hours :P

Back to the Twisted Nether

I managed to log into the Twisted Nether Blogcast today to listen to my good blogging friend Kamalia. I was excited because it’s the first one I’ve been able to make since my interview back in March. I tried to catch Tome’s one a few weeks ago but since it fell during a family luncheon for Mother’s Day, I missed it. Although I did try to sneak upstairs to log into one of my nephew’s Macs to try to listen but the minute I started streaming, I was called away. By the time I was able to try again half an hour later, the interview was over =/

Today, when I managed to log into the chat room, Hydra immediately mentioned that some people had requested that I be a guest on the show. I suspect they were new readers to my blog so they didn’t realise I had already been on :) But I was honestly surprised and humbled as there seemed to a number of requests for me. @Danslade even suggested there should be a guest book for my fans… or something along those lines. That made me laugh actually but for anyone reading who might have suggested the idea, I thank you! >.>

Here’s the info if you missed it the first time:

Also, Bubbles of Mischief is now on Facebook. Pls note that my original page is no longer valid so pls update or re-‘like’ :)

As always, you can still catch me on Twitter, through email subscriptions or feedburner.

Ok, so with that out of the way, it sounded like Kamalia had a great interview with Fim and Hydra so I’m glad she had a fun time.

I also thought I’d take the opportunity to plug the Twisted Nether Blogcast as it’s a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers in a different medium. It’s always great to put a voice to someone you’ve followed for a long time.

Lastly, take a moment to join Blog Azeroth if you haven’t already. Particularly if you’re a new to blogging as they have some great community events and Shared Topics which can help if you’re stuck for something to write about. WoW Insider recently joined in the ST too and from what I understand it will be a regular thing, so hopefully there will be more exposure all ’round. The only suggestion I have for them is to highlight the blogger who suggested the topic as I could have had some great potential traffic.

But until then, thx for reading and see you ’round the blogosphere :)

Twisted Nether Blogcast

Episode 163 on the Twisted Nether Blogcast is coming up this afternoon with me as today’s special guest. If you’d like to listen and join the the live chat, please do. It should be on from 2pm (server time/Sydney time) or 8pm Pacific time if you’re on the other side of the world.

So I have to say that it was a lot of fun talking to Fimlys and Hydra today. Thanks very much for having me on the show.

The one question I didn’t fully answer though was how I came up with my main toon names. I started talking about my Hunter Tallys who was my first main but then kind of went kind off on another tangent; but back to the question.

Cymre was first spelt as Cymry, a name I used for one of my Hunters pet names. Coolidge (Hugadarn back then) had helped me find and tame the rare cat Broken Tooth in Badlands and I wanted to do something special for him, so tried to think of a name that had something to do with his as a thank you.

After some research, I found that Cymry was the name of a Celtic race or group (depending on where you look) that followed Hu Gadarn – the Druid horned God. Over time, when I created my Priest, I decided to name my main Çymry. The spelling may have changed a little, but the idea remains the same.

I was also asked what I thought Blizz did wrong with Cataclysm. At the time, I couldn’t really think of anything but this is what I would have said (had I remembered). I really think it was a mistake that you could literally level up to 85 in about a day *cough Bel ;P Speed levelling for people who are starting toons might be a good idea if you’ve done the content already but you miss so much of the lore with the XP boosts and heirlooms nowadays. Sure it’s nice to experience the content in the latest x-pac but why the rush for 80’s getting to 85? Take your time… I’m really looking forward to taking my sweet time levelling when Mists comes out. Coolidge and I plan to do a lot of exploring before we even start on quests.

Another big thank you to all the listeners who tuned into this blogcast. Fimlys was saying it was a record for guests in the live chat :P After the interview, Coolidge told me there were around 30 listeners. Holy crap! I though there were only the 7 that I could see from the initial chat window :)

If you missed out on the live interview, that’s ok since it’s up on the Twisted Nether site now.
