The other night I was working on my Archaeology since I was 10 points away from getting another major milestone so I figured I may as well compete one that was pretty close to completion. Unfortunately, it turned out to be ~15 discoveries away but I was determined to finish something that night.
As the time passed sometime after midnight, I was in Townlong Steppes when something unexpected happened. I hit what I thought was the dig button… only it wasn’t. Guess what icon is directly under it? Can’t quite make it out? Here, let me highlight it for you…
Just as well the Spirit Healer was close and I’m glad the tiny caterpillars are now neutral, making digs a little less tedious.
The last few bosses in the Throne of Thunder also seemed to go pretty smoothly, that is until the last boss. But once the strategy was perfected, he went down as expected and look forward to doing it all again next week. Best of all, I finally managed to get an upgrade for my shoulders. Woot!
In other news, it’s been months since I’ve been to Ulduar so I was excited to step back in there today, especially since Cool and I have had some upgrades since then. Sadly, during our last three trips, I wasn’t able to walk out with any fragments so I was hoping for the best today. Luckily, I managed to walk out with one, getting past Hodir and Thorim which was fantastic. I even managed to walk out with my chest token and completed some of the fights on heroic!
In pet news, I was able to upgrade my last wild pet in Storm Peaks the other night which felt great. I’ve also been levelling the rest of my collection by doing four of the Pandarian tamer battles as well as the Fable quest every night. It really feels like I’m the only one still doing the fable battles these days but as a result, the bags often include a pet or battle-stone which makes it worthwhile. Lux even levelled some of my pets recently which was a welcome addition. Service with a smile, what more can you ask for? :)
After the earlier shenanigans related to the Mogolympics committee, I mentioned the scandal to some of the folks in the Shrine of the Seven Stars – the Alliance city in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. However, one in particular showed a great deal of interest and wanted to know more. So I told him to go and read Mogolympics Scandal, Judge Tampering? but he said “No. I want to know more about that Druid”.
When he wasn’t looking, I quickly took a shot of him so Cat could get a closer look.
What do you think Cat?
An interesting thing happened to me this morning… I was woken up by a friend of mine asking me why I was a male Blood Elf? My first response was “What!?” But after thinking a moment and if you saw my two earlier posts from last night you’d know I was playing around with various effects for my trinket posts. One of the last things I tried was Leyara’s Locket and the Simian Sphere in tandem. At least I still had the effect from the locket when I logged out. I was actually trying to do the Orb or Deception with the Simian Sphere and forgot to click the Orb as I was testing which costumes worked and which ones didn’t. I did try a deviate as the first effect I tried though so I never realised I went from being a ninja > iron dwarf > male flaming NE (ok just now it dawned on me that I’m not normally a male NE when I pop the trinket). Hey it was late when I did it…
So when Navimie asked Coolidge why I was a male BE, I heard his response was an angry, sad face. Awww. He should know I wouldn’t make a male toon. I learnt my lesson from the first and only male I made in WoW.
This is what you would have seen if you’d looked me up on Armory…
Cymre’s a male?
I admit I got a real kick out of seeing myself like this. I mean, don’t you think he looks rather fetching in a Mooncloth robe and accessories? Maybe it’s the Elvis Presley snarl that makes him look even more menacing. LOL, as if I’d dress my male BE like that… if I hypothetically had one :P
PS. I’ve always loved this hairstyle for male BE’s. So I guess in a way it was kismet…
I wrote this post a long time ago but figured that it might be a good shared topic for Blog Azeroth.
It would not be uncommon to hear about the initial release of World of Warcraft as Vanilla or Classic. In terms of ice cream, Vanilla was once considered the most popular flavour of it’s time. So if Vanilla represents Classic WoW, what flavours could represent the following expansions?
In Burning Crusade we were introduced to the Blood Elves and the Draenei as the new playable races. Not to mention the addition of Outland. The colour I associate with the first expansion would have to be green – they are the colour of Illidan’s blades, the Dark Portal, Blood Elf eyes and even the colour of the Box set.
Pistachio Gelato ~ one of my favourite flavours
With Wrath of the Lich King, we worked our way through the icy continent of Northrend; as Arthas Menethil, had emerged from Icecrown Citadel to claim the world as his own. Arthas had set in motion events that would lead to the extinction of all life on Azeroth. As the undead legions of the Scourge threatened to sweep across the land, we struck at the heart of the frozen abyss, ending the Lich King’s reign of terror for all time…
Blueberry Slurpee ~ makes me cold just thinking about it.
Cataclysm displayed Deathwing’s fiery re-emergence from Deepholm, the elemental plane of earth. As the breaker of worlds, Deathwing burst forth from the heart of the Maelstorm and unleashed his rage upon the land and sea. With Azeroth changed forever, I can’t help thinking of Hazelnut gelato as the flavour of choice.
What can I say, I like the nutty ones :P
Now with Mists of Pandaria as the next expansion, with all it’s Asian influences, I’d say Lychee is the flavour of choice since it’s a refreshing fruit – as well as being a fan of Easyway Bubble teas.
Lychee Soy Punch with Pearls? Yes please.
Then again, I also love black sesame like in tang yuan, otherwise known as Black sesame dumplings – the colour of some Pandaren like Chen so I’d be also tempted to suggest Sesame gelato as well.
Hey, it’s my topic so I’m entitled :)
My only question is now – what flavours come to mind for you?
