There are so many things I’d like to accomplish in-game and it would be so easy for some but for many I’m still left wanting. Sure there are times when all the stars align and I can get things done (when other people are involved) but the activities which require one or two people are what keep me going most of the time.
Why is it when something bad happens and you feel like a failure from a guild collapse, you don’t always find support from the few you thought were your friends? Sure there were a couple who gave me my space at a time when I needed anonymity but there were others who left me feeling abandoned while in the security of their own ‘real’ guild. It seemed like most of them only used us just to get some raid time on their alts (as that was the only time we would see them). Then there was the individual who used our guild to get their legendary only to leave one week shy of achieving that goal and giving credit to his girlfriend’s guild. It actually makes me wonder if he used his ‘mental issue’ in the weeks leading up to it as an excuse. I’d like to think not but who really knows except him and his conscience.
I understand people have moments when they just don’t want to raid but even with one person absent in a small guild (especially a tank) can cripple a raid. When you tell a guild member you just didn’t feel like getting on and then later telling the GM and raid leader ‘my son cut his foot open’ is just not on.
It’s moments like these which force me to be a lot more cautious when it comes to asking other people for help. This is why I’m left with one scenario and one dungeon achievement as it requires group coordination. As I mentioned before, I had asked someone early on if they’d be interested in doing challenge modes but they said they should finish the challenges with their initial group first which was understandable. Since then I’ve tried getting together with another friend but it didn’t quite work out the evening we planned to do it. This included getting on an hour early and waiting due to my excitement.
Fast forward to the present and we’ve completed two challenge modes with two different groups. On the plus side, we managed to get silver on both runs but it hasn’t quite worked out ranging from the group makeup to the level of commitment from the members. I spent so much time optimising my set, making sure I was fully enchanted and gemmed with food/potions/flasks and whatever else I could do to maximise my level of success but after our last attempt, I’m not sure how viable it is when at least one individual doesn’t at least enchant and gem their gear.
I was adamant about doing this without having to pay for the runs but with the impending removal of the privilege soon, I may have been left coveting the set from afar. I’ve looked at various sites which sell the runs but it’s still difficult to accumulate that much gold. I never expected to be carried though these runs and I’m not happy about paying but it looks like that’s what I’ll have to do.
When Coolidge first told me about the maces in the Siege of Orgrimmar, I admit I was jealous – just as he predicted. I’m just not sure why they had to have strength on them. Personally I think intellect would have been a better choice but maybe that’s just me. Over the past few months I had pretty much forgotten about their existence until a couple of days ago when I was updating one of my old transmogs in MogIt.
Wishing we had bubble wands to use (especially as disc priests) is nothing new for me. I’ve mentioned it a few times over the years so when I thought about my chibi commission by Sleepingfox, how could I not include one?
I had a pretty clear idea of how Cymre should look including all the components I love about my priest and things I associate with my character. Looking at her now, I think the only thing missing is a pet.
Over the last week or so, I’ve been seeing how close I can get to Jakur’s spawn spot using Falling Flame. You may have seen my other video about one of my earlier trials but if you’d like to know how not to use Falling Flame with Levitate, let me enlighten you.
Since then, I’ve tried using it with my soulstone but by then I only had a couple of charges left. That means I might end up farming another one.
I’m really curious to know how many times I’ve killed this rare because I still haven’t managed to get his drop. I mean seriously Blizz, how many times do I need to kill this guy?
WTB better RNG!
To top it off, I’ve had no luck upgrading either of my weapons. I’ve been doing the last section of SoO and was surprised to go into a fresh run on a Saturday (even if we zoned in staring at the first boss). It was going fine until we reached Garrosh. There were a few issues with the tank positioning Garrosh all over the place and some Iron Stars wiping most of the raid. We ended up killing him with three determination just after I was punted up the wall on the second last attempt.
The things you do just to upgrade a weapon…
Here’s hoping my luck changes next week.
Now that we have a release date, there are still a number of pets I’ll need to level if I plan to use them in the Celestial Tournament. Hopefully it won’t take too long, provided I can get some more rissoles and hotdogs before then. The good new is, all the pets are rare, unlike the random collection I received on the PTR. Although it will be a little sad to say goodbye to the ones I may never own on live like the Vanilla CE pets and Tyrael’s Hilt. You know, I never realised how funny Lil’ Tyrael is when he falls asleep.
A couple of days ago, we were farming Cool’s shoulders in Dragon Soul when this achievement popped so not only did we get a brand spanking achievement, Morchok dropped his shoulders too.
Then earlier today I ventured into Diablo III for a bit and it really showed I haven’t played for a while (over a year) because I was right-clicking and dropping hydras everywhere and that was just for starters.
To top off the day we did a couple heroic dungeons where I was highest on the damage metre as Disc for one of the dungeons :P
It must be that time of year again when I find myself in the same predicament and it’s not even spring! I was having trouble looting all the items to sell during my runs though Kara, TK and SSC but the last straw came when I was doing an exploration run of the third room in the Troves of the Thunder King and couldn’t finish looting a Golden Chest because my bag was full.
Turns out I had left a Burial Trove Key in the Golden Chest but the dilemma was deciding which item to delete from my bag. This wasted about 15secs trying to decide which object I could live without. In the end I discarded my Ancient Amber which I’ve had since early Cata but in all honesty, I haven’t really used since Dragon Soul.
So now my bank and backpacks are all upgraded with Royal Satchels which helps but I still needed to go through my entire inventory. This included a couple of pieces in my Void Storage and bank since a few turned out to be look-alike pieces, particularly the cloaks.
I was able to free up 18 spots which is great and I even changed my shadow mog to my Cymre Jones outfit since it frees up a bit more room. It’s just too bad I’m using a staff instead of my stake/torch or journal and you still need to show the shoulders which is a shame (not that she really uses them for her outfit). Plus I was holding all my Battle-Stones on my alt since she’s doing more of the pet battling these days but I’m suddenly tempted to hold them on my main. I might just wait for the patch though.
My latest big purchase turned out to be another TCG pet after seeing the price drop low enough in the AH. It feels so great to mark another one off the list. No fragments in Ulduar though this week.
I’ve been known to stay at one Tamer location for a long time, especially when I’m power levelling a pet. So it’s not unusual that on occasion I will be locked in battle with with a pet or team as the rounds surpass 20 or 30 (although that’s more likely in a regular wild battle).
Take today for instance. I was in the process of trying to level several combinations of pets when I decided to use my uncommon level 22 Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling as the booster pet. After a couple of close attempts, it was only until my dragonling was was the last pet standing (or should I say flying) together with Hyuna’s turtle that I thought about epic battles and secret achievements.
WoWHead has these secret achievements which can be unlocked – but you won’t know the criteria for it until you’ve earned it. Pretty tricky, huh? So as my battle went past 50 rounds (:P), I thought it would be cool if we had achievements to reflect the length or difficulty of a battle – but it would have to be continuous active moves and no passing.
Call it perseverance or stubbornness but I was somewhat curious to see how long it could go for. Towards the end, I was determined to get a win as my other two pets were dead and this was my levelling pet so I kept going until I was victorious. Turns out my dragon’s decoy ability worked like a charm, esp. when the turtle wanted to headbutt his opponent.
Well, it may be just a pipe dream but it was a nice thought while it lasted… after this particular battle though I only had some treats and a tattered collar to show for it.
