I’ve been itching to work on a number of these dungeon and scenario achievements so I’ve been queuing up for three specific ones over the last couple of days. To start, I asked Cool to help me with a particular dungeon one before he suggested Seeds of Doubt a few minutes afterwards.
The next day, I noticed you could do several of the achievements on normal so I queued hoping to get what I needed from each one.
It was just a matter of time before the Pandaren defence appeared. I was happy to see it after the third try.
That Protected Unga Keg was one of the most annoying achievements in the whole series since it’s so hard to come by so imagine my surprise when I saw it after the first try this time round.
I made my way into the low level dungeon but found it still took a few tries since the boss died prematurely (silly cloak). In the end, I just body pulled the boss and just waited until three of the zombies spawned.
Even though this was the first I queued up for (picking two scenarios to do at a time), it actually took the longest to complete. I was excited to see the Vale Marksman on my first attempt – one of the last two I needed for the place. Little did I know I would be running it countless times over the next two days trying to see the burly Briaw Shan NPC. Let’s just say I didn’t leave his side as soon as phase two started.
Feels great to complete so many in such a short time.
By the way, can anyone recommend a reliable server for Rabble Rabble Rabble, one of the Brawler’s Guild achievements? I’d also like to knock the last optional card boss off my bucket list before WoD.
I’ve been wanting to complete a number of these achievements for a such a long time that I decided to have a look at the more doable ones. Attention to Detail was definitely one of them so Cool and I headed out to try it.
Turns out it was super easy so we were going to try School’s Out Forever but it couldn’t be completed with a partial group.
The next day I noticed Bomberman in my log so we flew over to the Gate of the Setting Sun to complete it.
This was another easy one which gave me the achievement before we even killed the boss. Before we left I checked to see if there were any more and noticed Conscriptinator. The most time consuming thing about it was to work our way to the mobs (which didn’t take too long at all).
Ah, it feels great to get another three out of the way. I think I’m in the mood for some Brawlers….
From the time we set foot in the Temple of the Jade Serpent today, Cool and I decided to go for the Cleaning Up achievement as it’s one we’ve wanted to do for a while. As a PUG, there’s a bit of a hit or miss depending on the three DPSers – today we had a Mage, Monk and Shaman. It’s a shame we can’t get an accurate time for the entire instance but adding up all the fights on Skada, it seemed like the whole thing took ~14mins. We had just under 3mins left on the Purified Water buff as we started the fight with the Sha of Doubt.
There appears to be a bug with the door behind Mari as it doesn’t always open. Today was no exception as we found ourselves running back through the entrance. It was a non-issue though as we made good time in the courtyard with the adds and Liu Flameheart. The three adds before the Sha were pulled into the back room with the boss so they don’t need to be CC’ed as others have suggested.
The fight was over in 1min and 58secs with 36secs left on the buff. It was also earned by everyone in the group so well done all.
Last night I defeated the Master Pet Tamer for Cataclysm earning me the achievement - Taming Cataclysm. So I’m now on the home stretch to defeat all the Master Pet Tamers of Pandaria – meaning they all have EPIC pets. Last time I found Farmer Nishi the easiest to defeat so I decided to try her first. One down four to go.
Four days ago, I finally managed to get my Baby Ape on the Isle. Definitely the hardest capture for the entire month but I’m glad I logged my toons in various zones just for this purpose.
A couple of nights ago, I managed to max out the last profession we needed for Working Better as a Team meaning we now have heirloom pants for our alts :) Cooking by far was the most time consuming to level up due to the large amount of materials needed for banquet meals but I was determined to get my Brew cooking up for the two lost treasures I found over a week ago. It helps when you have a few alts doing their bit with the four starter plots you get at 85-86 (even if you can’t earn rep with The Tillers yet). Cool helped me farm materials too on his farm making it that much quicker to max out my cooking.
Yesterday we tried our first random Heroic getting Stormstout Brewery but not before we made sure all our gear was optimised with reforges, enchants and gems. Although I had to ask “are you sure this is Heroic?” once inside as it seemed as easy as the normal dungeon.
He sure died in a funny position
But I do like the random Hozen costumes you get from drinking the brew
I’m not sure what we’re supposed to do with all the extra lesser charms though as I’m starting to build up my second stack of them. It’s nice that they can stack up to 180 but if you can only trade them in once a week, I’m going to be swimming in them for a while. At least, our Order of the Cloud Serpent rep will be finished soon and we’re already revered with The Tillers so it shouldn’t be as time consuming doing all the dailies.
No doubt my rep with Nat Pagle will the hardest to acquire with all the rare catches I’ll need. So far, I’ve caught two of the same rare fish so I guess that will give me something to do after all this other stuff is taken care of.
I admit I’m excited about some of the new changes coming in 5.1, particularly with the Pet Battle System. I love that we’ll be able to upgrade our pets with the rare and uncommon battle stones. Looks like we’ll have to wait for the epic ones in a later patch though.
With the Darkmoon Hatchling and new Darkmoon Pet Tamer coming, it’s a good thing I’ve been storing up my Darkmoon tickets just for this purpose. It makes me wonder how easy it will be to find a Darkmoon Glowfly though as the ones during the Wanderer’s Festival as pretty scarce – but the faire does last a week so you never know. I’m also glad that my tailoring is up there so I’ll be able to get the Imperial Moth and Imperial Silkworm over time.
