Liebster III

Liebster III

I woke up to find I had been nominated for the third time by Jojo of Admiring Azeroth. The first was by Reihyou and then… (afraid I can’t remember at this moment but it was someone who didn’t list any questions and was on blogger).

So here we go again:

1. Do you still play your first character? If not, why not and if you do, how much? Are they your main or just an alt…

No, I don’t. It was a human paladin (which I still have) but has remained level 23 or so since early vanilla.

2. What’s your opinion of the more monotonous side of WoW? Things like fishing, archaeology, rep grinds etc.

I usually do those for the novelty items like the Scepter of Azj’Aqir, then it’s the rep and achievements which keep me going until I’ve completed everything.

3. Which of the in-game races does the real life you best resemble? (I’m a Dwarf or Pandaren).

Definitely a Blood Elf although I’m slightly more shapely than the current model and my ears aren’t quite as pointy.

4. What other games do you play?

Hearthstone (and I dabble in D3 from time to time).

5. Are you a gold-maker in-game?

Not a serious one but I have been trying to generate gold for any outstanding pets I don’t have or the odd BMAH purchase.

6. Would you class yourself as a typical gamer?

I always thought of a gamer as one who plays lots of different types of games. I don’t, but I guess I am even though I only like to play WoW and Hearthstone.

7. I play on a laptop which is slowly dying from all the WoW-time. What do you play on?

I have my main computer which is what I do the majority of stuff on but I also like to use the laptop (in the evenings) when I can relax with some of the more casual stuff.

8. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you as a result of blogging?

I just love sharing my experiences with others in the WoW community whether it’s my own personal accomplishments or material I hope will help others. On the other hand, I often think sharing so much of myself on the blog limits a lot of interaction that I might otherwise have in-game (also shown by the few comments I receive) because people think they know everything there is to know about me – this isn’t necessarily the case. Remember, I love to read your comments.

9. If all the WoW servers were merged, so EU and US could play together etc, would that affect the game for you? What would you do in celebration? Or could you not give two beeps.

Not at all, unless they didn’t speak english perhaps. I’d much rather be able to do some fun activities like raid with cross-faction friends though. That would mean I could always bring my main for that one transmog item I’ve been trying to get, achievement or just help with heals or DPS.

10. We all have at-least one fun fact about us, what’s yours?

Ooh fun fact? Hmm, let me think about that one..

I used to be in the highest gymnastics class at school.

11. If you could add a new profession to WoW what would it be? Primary or Secondary?

I’d love to have another primary profession, maybe a plastic surgeon so I could customise my character more, LOL.

Well there we go. For those who haven’t participated yet, feel free to take this as an auto-nomination if you’d like to join in. Just don’t forget to add your 11 random facts about yourself and leave a message below so we can see what you’ve written.

Day 31: Dangerous

I was almost attacked by Jaws once. It was 1988 at Universal Studios where I experienced some of the movie magic that makes Star Trek, ET, Superman and space walking possible. I even had my pic taken with Frankenstein, among other things.

This shark doesn’t seem as menacing as the one depicted in the movie but I’m sure you’d think differently if you were in the same stretch of water. Now imagine if you saw this instead.

This concludes my 31 days of Tycertank’s #wowscreenshotaday challenge.

Day 29: Lucky

Owen's Wishing Well

Rumour has it if you throw a coin over your shoulder with your back turned to the Trevi Fountain in Rome, you are sure to return. I did this back in 1997 and still hope to revisit the city one day.

Owen’s Wishing Well was added as a memorial to Brian “Owen” Wicks after a visit to Blizzard Entertainment through the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2012. You can read about his visit in a very touching piece written by his mother called A boy and his wish. It was hard to not feel emotional when I read about his story and I really praise Blizzard for these in-game tributes since they mean so much to the individual and their loved ones.

Clicking on the Lucky Golden Coin above will give you a 10min Made-a-Wish buff. On occasion you may also find Wodin’s Mantid Shanker, a rare BoA dagger located at the bottom of the well and counts towards the Lost and Found achievement.
