I managed to save enough Ironpaw Tokens (50) to buy my Cooking School Bell summoning Nomi – my very own cooking student. I remember seeing this cute little thing following someone on the beta but I wasn’t that advanced (or just didn’t know where to get him) so I was excited to finally purchase the bell earlier today.
It took a long time to work up the tokens once I realised you needed that many in the first place. This was after I used them all for trading in mats for cooking the favourite dishes of my future BFFs. If only I knew that then – the gift of hindsight, right? Thx to my other guildie for helping me build up my food resources to trade.
When I summoned him, he had a daily to make sliced peaches which was easy enough. The rep grind seems long but from what I read, it’s worth it in the long run. He’ll even give you Ironpaw Tokens once you’re exalted with him.
Each reputation level gives it’s own unique daily worth 1000 rep each:
Once you become Best Friends with Nomi, he will offer you A Present for Teacher:
Here’s to another rep grind :P
For the month of November, if a picture is worth a thousand words, post fifty pictures which may or may not be related to WoW!
I don’t know, it may be a struggle posting 50 pics in 30 days but I’ll give it a go :P
I’ve also given myself a bit of creative licence and counted my last three posts in the tally since they were posted from November 1st.
Thanks to a tweet from WarcraftPets today, I logged onto my rogue and flew to Winterspring for one reason only – the Snowy Owl. I figured since it’s Winter on Khadgar, I’m good to get a seasonal owl for my collection. So when I flew into the area with my paid flight, I was excited to see a lot of them below me, noting the spots of where I saw them. However, when I landed and mounted over there, they were nowhere to be seen. At first I thought, some lucky bugger had captured them all in the minute it took to ground mount it over there. So I rode around the entire zone trying to find a wild one. (It’s always sad when you realise you have no Gold on your old server to buy flying…) By the time I reached the middle of the zone, I did a search for who else was in the area, it was just me. It seems the server I was on when I took the flight in Org was different to the one when I landed. Urg!
The server said it was 9.20pm so I figured it may just be a nocturnal spawn since others had written that it’s not dependant on a snowstorm. So I logged in again 20mins before midnight on the server and had a brief look around. Nothing. I waited until 1min til midnight before I started riding around again. Sure enough I found one and captured it without much effort.
I thought it was a bit funny when someone wrote that they managed to get one on my main server which is odd considering Dath’remar is an Oceanic server on an East coast time zone but the server itself still follows US time zones.
Just to confirm, I found one on Dath at ~6.30pm so they appear to be sporadic.
So if you’re after one for your collection, now’s the time to get it :)
This post is part of IntPiPoMo – posting 50 screenshots in 30 days.
It may have taken a while but I finally completed my Glorious! achievement today. Ever since I saw that first rare achievement in the journal, I’ve made it a personal mission to kill all the rares at least once in the game. Back in July ’09, I completed Frostbitten which I was extremely proud of. Then in September ’09, I decided to go back and finish my Bloody Rare achievement too which Navi even wrote about. Unfortunately, Cataclysm had no such achievement but you only had to look back at some of my posts about the Group Rares or even my Silver Dragon page to find them all.
These days, the Pandaren Champions are quite tricky to find. Even though their spawn rate is short, the competition is quite fierce depending on which rare it is. Today I was down to my last two, Nasra Spothide and Scritch. I’m not a fan of the monk Champions but after she died, I headed over to Kun-Lai to see if Scritch was there. Nope and there was another person camping him.
So I went to the kitchen to get something to eat while Cool hovered nearby waiting for his last rare to pop up as well in the area. I was probably gone 8mins or so when I came back I saw a big message to “COME BACK!” When I looked at the game, I saw the tell-tale rare icon through the statue I was standing on knowing that Cool had tagged the rare and was holding him for me before I even reached for my headset. By the time I flew down there, Scritch was at 3% with two other players who had tried (unsuccessfully) to kill the rare and Coolidge so they could try and steal the kill. Both failed as I saw their corpses nearby.
They were probably wondering why he was taking so long to kill him but being a Pali, he certainly had the endurance and skill to last the distance until my return. From what Cool told me, Scritch spawned soon after I left but I managed to DPS him down that last 3% yielding me the last kill I needed. Woot!
Cool, what a trooper you are. My BFF buff sure came in handy today. :D
Here’s to another achievement we both managed to get on the same day, even though we had a different kill list.
