This morning I finally maxed out on engineering – woot! The guide I was following only indicated 1x Spirit of Harmony to level out the Pandaria requirement but that was dependant on whether I had any more spirits at my disposal. This ‘cheaper’ option forces you to make in excess of 20 something Thermal Anvils which happened to be the route I took with my pali but I definitely didn’t want to go down that road again.
Months later, I’m still left with 13 anvils so it was an easy decision to go the other way. It’s just a shame my bags were struggling with the overflow of mats. Just as well I also have a guild bank to use although if you saw it right now, you’d think a bomb had exploded.
The day I decided to drop enchanting for engineering involved a quick look through my bag to see what I could safely destroy. This consisted of a very short list indeed – my 400 and something dinosaur bones and my 4x Spirits of Harmony. Funnily enough, I ended up needing 6x Spirits of Harmony which proved more difficult to procure, once I realised the need for them.
Yesterday, I spent quite a bit of time trying to accumulate enough motes so I could complete my last 19 points of engineering. After making ONE Thermal Anvil for one point, I had to think of a good way to farm a lot more. I had already completed the Troves of the Thunder King scenario so I queued up for the last section of SoO but didn’t walk out with any (although I did get a weapon upgrade finally).
I also tried fishing up some Sealed Crates at the Darkmoon Faire but there weren’t many crates to be found. I resorted to farming mobs on the Timeless Isle and planting Songbell Seeds for a guaranteed harvest. At 3am, I was able to make Lord Blastington’s Scope of Doom closely followed by a Long-Range Trillium Sniper. With 9 points left to go, I typed up a game ticket asking for the return of my 4x Spirits of Harmony. Thankfully they were waiting in the mail as soon as I logged in this afternoon so I made another scope and Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling to finish.
So to celebrate my newest engineer, I’d like to find a home for my Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling. I realise this isn’t a new pet for many but for the few who don’t have one, let’s see what kind of creativity this could generate.
All you have to do is come up with a short story or image (may be painted/drawn) featuring the pet, myself and your toon. Don’t forget to leave your toon name and server with your entry.
Feel free to email your entries to my bubblesofmischief gmail account (particularly if it’s an image). I will post all the entires on 16 March giving you a week to get an entry in.
Please limit your entries to one.
An interesting thing happened tonight, I was passing through the sprite area when I spotted the Neverending Spritewood. I’m not that fussed about doing it these days since I’ve already had the pet drop a few times but I wasn’t expecting this… especially when I only killed four Angry Sprites and I wasn’t fully buffed.
To celebrate I thought I’d have a giveaway. All you have to do is leave a creative comment below. Please include your toon name and region-realm underneath your entry. The winners will be announced on Friday.
Edit: Holy Cow, I’m getting multiple entries from individuals. Please limit this to one entry everyone.
By the way, check out the other giveaway I have on YouTube at the moment.
Congratulations to Taikuutta and Cindi! Be sure to check out their ranked winning entries below.
In seven days I will be selecting the winner for my YouTube intro giveaway. In case you missed it, I’m looking for something I can add to the start of all my videos on YouTube. As such, it only needs to be a few seconds long but the slicker the better. Ideally I’d like something which animates but feel free to ask me any questions beforehand.
You can check out my channel to see the types of videos I like to do which happens to be quite varied. A lot of my videos supplement my blog posts but some are just to share.
Here’s the channel trailer so you can see what I’m about:
It really depends on how much interest there is but will likely be pet related. Think recent additions to Patch 5.4. Still missing that one pet? Imagine if you’re the only entrant, no competition!
It could be ANYTHING!
Generally the first thing I do each week is the Celestial Tournament although last Tuesday evening, I noticed the weekly quest had reset so I decided to do it. It was also the first time I’ve been able to one-shot all seven challengers so I don’t see any reason to change my strats from here.
Today I managed to do it again with one variation. I was curious to see how my Dandelion Frolicker held up against Yu’la since Bonkers has proven a strong choice in the past (as well as a few others). Turns out the sprite is another great contender so if you’re having no luck with Bonkers, here’s another alternative.
As a result I was able to pick up my third pet from the Tournament.
On a side note, I’m looking for someone to create a YouTube intro for me, i.e something I can add to the start of my videos. You can check out my channel to see the types of videos I like to do and will look at some sort of prize for the wining entry – most likely pet related. Ideally I’m looking for something slick and animated.
The winner will be chosen at the end of the month.
As Winter Veil begins for another year, I will be giving away one fiery little Cinder Kitten to a lucky reader over the next few days. All you have to do is add a creative comment under the post. The winner will be selected on Christmas Eve so you have until then to enter.
Only US servers are eligible, sorry EU readers.
The code will be emailed to the winning recipient so please make sure your email details are valid before posting.
Bonus point if you’re a new commenter and have a Gravatar image (**cough** Slice).
Edit: Congratulations to Shawndra for a great entry.
