The Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal was a mount of legend which had no equal until its closest counterpart was unearthed beneath the sands of Uldum. It was rewarded to anyone who used their Scepter of the Shifting Sands to bang the gong during the 10 hour opening of AQ event. As such it was the only qiraji you could mount outside the walls of AQ so extremely rare although I would have preferred ‘Scarab Queen’ for a title :P
My contributions towards the war effort were dedicated but I never went as far as collecting the [Silithid Carapace Fragments] for myself (although I did help a couple of others with theirs). My epic adventure began years later and even then it was a huge effort to complete.
Last week I was looking through my mount journal on the PTR and noticed several differences. Not only was the Enchanted Fey Dragon present but my very own Black Qiraji Battle Tank. OMG, how exciting! In true Cymre Jones fashion, I headed back to Uldum before making my way though Silithus.
But like most good things, it was just an illusion. Time to return to the real Azeroth…
Ah, it was nice while it lasted. Hooray for the Scepter of Azj’Aqir.
The guild may have moved and gone through some ups and downs but it still holds a special place in my heart. I had lost track of its foundation date (17/08/2006) but it wasn’t too hard to find since the original guild still existed on an old server during those good old vanilla days.
As we played through the first expansion, the guild was re-created on our main server Khadgar, together with our first official guild site. The banner I created took much longer than I care to admit but I’m still proud of the result.
Even now, it still brings back a lot of memories.
This afternoon I had an opportunity to do some Flex raiding thanks to Arvash. At first I thought it was a guild run but as soon as I entered I realised it wasn’t. Luckily I recognised a few names so it was nice to receive a warm welcome from both Rep and Arv.
I missed out on Galakras but managed to do the other three in the Gates of Retribution. Thankfully the fights went pretty smoothly and we even managed to complete Rescue Raiders during the Dark Shaman fight – an achievement I thought we had failed due to an overzealous raider. I was particularly excited to get Gamon Will Save Us! as I never thought I’d have an opportunity with just LFR this expansion.
By the time General Nazgrim died we lost a few to sleep but soldiered on after a short AFK break. Malkorok turned out to be another story after wiping several times to one thing or another so we called it a day before promising to return another time. Cool thinks I’ve become soft since I kept dying on Malkorok. It always seemed to happen when I was running to a safe zone. I even tried healing for one or two attempts but it became too late for several more people.
Not too bad for a couple of achievements and I even got to meet a reader of the blog :)
