Nothing of interest dropped like the mount but it’s only one of a number of instance and raid ones I do each day/week so I still have three to go. I suspect they will come from some sort of drop since I spent a good amount of gold making my last three panthers recently (less the onyx one) but I’m ok with that. It’s just a matter of time.

Speaking of mounts, Cool dropped his Blingtron for our daily package and was gobsmacked to see four things in his. Holy Crap, it does exist! The Geosynchronous World Spinner to be exact! I knew the drop was really low for one of these mounts but I’m glad to finally see one coming out of these gift packages. It should be noted that Cool made me one of these early into the expansion but never made one for himself. I’m wondering though if you would ever see one if you already had one in your journal? Either way, I’m wishing him luck for the other mount too.

Now don’t be surprised if you see us zipping around in our two speciality rockets (although I’ve been using mine for months now).

So for Navi’s Moving House Giveaway, I couldn’t believe such an awesome prize was up for grabs again, especially since it’s been on my Ultimate Wish List for so long. I spent a good number of hours looking for all 16 clues but there was a bit of a mixup with my answer to the second question. It didn’t help that I was missing two of the clues so I thought the last question asked

“Five who __ __ favourite NPC in WoW”

I had picked five of the eight names (derived from the first question) and tried to figure out the favourite NPCs for the blogger names I had chosen. Funnily enough I had Navi’s favourite NPC correct which meant I would have been the first one to give her the correct two answers but since I submitted five NPC names, it didn’t count. It was only later that I realised that the second question started with ‘Who’ and not ‘Five’.

In the end I managed to come up with the second correct answer by ~1am last night. I’m told it was within half an hour of both Arv and Luxy but the draw was due to happen early this morning so with only three names in the running, there was a really good chance of winning. As these things go, I ended up coming second so a big grats to Arv for winning the Grand Prize.

I’m sure he’ll have his levelled up in a day :P

Since my name was drawn second, I won the TCG Riding Turtle from the Heroes of Azeroth Expansion leaving me three to go for Mount Parade. I did wonder if this was any different to the Sea Turtle you can fish up but it appears to be the same other than the colour. One advantage is the fact that you can ride it at any level so it’s great for twinks who can use it to cross water at a speed advantage but on land your movement speed would be the same as walking. I don’t mind though since it still counts towards my achievement.

I managed to loot the Dusty Old Robot from Blingtron a couple of days after the patch launched so I was eager to see what the quest was about. From there I wanted to work on collecting the others so I did some research and referenced them here. Quite a few were fun to collect as opposed to others which took some time and a lot of luck. The Hozen item took about 30mins while two came from the daily scenario bag as opposed to the caravan escorts. Sadly, the last item I needed was collected on an alt (two days in a row) while harvesting her crops but tonight I managed to collect the item from harvesting a normal crop.

So far I’ve defeated four and tried a couple of others but my question is now, how am I going to hold all these extra shirts?

Malfurion Stormrage

I love how he has the ability to change with the seasons and have almost levelled him to 25. You can’t help but think of Tome when you see this pet – more for the name than being a tree though.

Design a pet!  What model would your pet have, where would it come from and what abilities would it have?

I loved the idea of a Manticron Cube ever since it was suggested for a previous shared topic so I thought I would have a go at using it for my design.

Laser – Blasts the enemy with a laser of arcane power, dealing 310 Magic damage.

Gravity – 1 Turn Cooldown 95% Hit Chance.
Slams the target into the ground, dealing 150 Magic damage.
If used again on the same target, they are levitated and unable to flee for 2 rounds.

Banish – Deals 325 Mechanical damage and forces the opponent’s lowest health pet to swap into battle.

Solar Beam – You summon a beam of solar energy over the active pet location, interrupting the target and silencing the active pet dealing 300 Elemental damage for one round.

Shadow Grasp – Shadowy forces writhe out of the Mantricon Cube dealing 800 shadow damage.

Life Exchange – Equalises the health between the user and his enemy. Health gained cannot exceed the caster’s maximum health.

What is your favourite pet ability?  If you could have a pet with your favourite abilities, what would they be?

There are so many abilities that work great together but there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing your three opponent’s pets aflame during a PVP battle.

About the only thing better is when Call Lightning or a Turret is in play which deals even more damage. This is one of the reasons I use my Fel Flame during my Aki fight so I’d have to say Immolate partnered with Flame Breath and Conflagrate is really a great pet to use.

Today I completed my PVP Pet Battle quest earning me the Vengeful Pet Brawler achievement. Now to win another 200  :P

A handful of other achievements included the last heroic scenario I needed with Cool and Luxy as well as Accelerated Archaeology and I Used To Love Them while trying to collect my two Brawler challenge items.

It may take a while but I’m also nearing the end of my Archaeology achievements with Collector: Gold-Inlaid Porcelain Funerary Figurines as the latest on the list. Most recently, I completed my third Brawler challenge fight so far and managed to get Puddle Jumper after heading into my first Deepwind Gorge battleground which we won.

Now to try and get some more of the easier achievements out of the way, particularly those old raids.

Day 8: What is the stupidest thing(s) you have ever done in a pet battle?

Just after I started pet battling on the beta and had fought quite a few in Durotar, I headed over to The Barrens to see what I could find. I engaged the first one I saw which was a bad move as my corehound was level four and I had selected a level 9 to battle. It didn’t end well… LOL!

Then after heading back to Org to hand in a couple of quests, I decided to see what the ‘Find Battle’ feature was about. I was hoping it would be like The Last Relic of Argus and teleport me to some random critter or something but that was just wishful thinking. I was teleported right outside Org to find my level 5 corehound in a battle with a level 13 pet. OUCH! The odd thing was I died after 2secs which seemed weird but later found it was due to a world glitch where you could just fall through the earth. Even more odd was the fact that the battle was still going so I just released, rezzed and continued fighting critters the old fashioned way, heading over to Mulgore to see what they had to offer.

Other silly things included the usual like starting battles with dead pets, the wrong type, using an ability which crit the pet I was trying capture (before my turnip) or killing a pet I wanted to capture since I was talking to someone or watching TV at the time.

Do you use mods?  If you could only have one pet mod, what would it be and why?

There are several mods which I’ve previously mentioned but after going into numerous raids, dungeons and even questing with my Safari hat (and sometimes other items) still on, I’ve started using Auto Safari Hat which will automatically equip your Safari Hat (and/or Guild Tabard) when fighting wild pets or battling Pet Tamers. It can also accept quests, starts battles, and complete quests automatically each time you right-click a Pet Tamer.

Then there’s Pet Journal Enhanced which was the first addon I started using and even now I love its excellent filtering system. I often use it to show my duplicates, filter by family and even by zone. You can also use it to hide certain pets, predict the stats a pet will have at 25 and show their specialisation of tank, speed or power.

PetBattle Teams is essential if you continue to do a lot of pet battles each day. Even though the default UI saves the last used abilities for each pet you’ve used, the addon lets you switch teams on the fly when travelling from one tamer to another. There’s even a handy spot at the bottom of the tab where you can easily access the heal ability and show you the number of bandages you have at a glance. Hopefully we’ll be able to access the buff treats from there sometime in the future but if I had to choose just one addon it would probably be Pet Journal Enhanced.

The item she placed in the trade window was accompanied by: “I am not a jc or and engineer but I wanted to help!” Surely this was in relation to a comment I made on Arv‘s blog recently.

OMG! A Big Battle Bear which is one of the TCG mounts and totally unexpected to say the least.

Doesn’t he look great on my hunter? So much so I thought I was only fitting that I change my ground mount to this menacing looking bear although I was a little curious to see how he would look on a blood elf. Short of switching to my main, I did the next best thing.
