Marty McFly

Can you believe it’s been 30 years since the original Back to the Future movie? I remember watching it on the big screen when everything seemed larger than life. Then fast forward to the second movie which brought us hoverboards, electric cars and self-drying clothes as well as some pretty wacky costumes.

Now that we’ve finally reached 2015, it’s hard not to look at some of these predictions. We certainly have an increased number of electric cars, video calls and wall-mounted TVs.

Thankfully our fashion sense isn’t too close to the mark but I figure it’s like those fashion shows which have one ‘for show’ and one for normal people. Then again, you may have seen this proof of concept¬†hoverboard design or Nike’s new line of Nike MAGs based on Marty’s self-tying shoes.

So until we have our own flying car, I’ll be content with my in-game hoverboard, just like Marty here.

  1. I know, I can’t tell you how horrified I was to realize my all time favorite, Bladerunner celebrated it’s 30th anniversary a few years ago. I can’t believe my parents let me watch that movie when I was three years old ;)

    • Haha, I still remember watching ET at the movies and was embarrassed walking out of the cinema with red eyes.
