My First Heirloom

Trying the new and improved Group Finder tool was something I was hoping to do over the weekend but with so many other things to do, it never eventuated. So after looking through some videos and being so close to the release of Warlords, I wanted to tweet a ‘thanks for everything’ pic to tie up the last expansion.

Only then was I was reminded of the biggest regret I would have had if I stepped into Draenor without having a chance at an heirloom from the big bad himself. Cool said he didn’t really care about an heirloom but he joined me anyway. Unfortunately, we were denied from joining the first group even though we fit the ilvl and role requirements but thankfully the second RL was more accommodating as we ported to Blackfuse.

After a few wipes in, Cool ended up DC’ing on the kill attempt. I decided to keep going since I figured I could try and get him back in if he was still around by the time we reached Garrosh and wasn’t completely fed up with his latency issues.

Thankfully the raid leader showed no hesitation when I asked him to re-invite Cool and a Garrosh kill soon followed after a few wipes and role replacements. I was hoping for the off-hand since I generally have a harder time upgrading that slot and usually prefer a 2pc combo but as luck would have it I received the staff while Cool received the 2H axe.

This should last me well into the next expansion and just in time for the servers to come down for an extended maintenance. Excitement!

  1. Congratulations on that weapon! I’ll be interested to hear how you like your new and improved servers when they’re up!

    • Thanks! I’m wondering how many teething problems we’ll have but I’ll have to see how Cool’s latency is.
