Steamwheedle Preservation Society

Gazmolf Futzwangler is in Nagrand recruiting members for the Steamwheedle Preservation Society , the archaeological branch of the Steamwheedle Cartel. As he explains:

We’re here to collect all of the artifacts, relics, antiquities and oddities that Nagrand has to offer! Currently, we’re hiring surveyors, excavators, adventurers… you name it! If you’re interested in getting your hands dirty, talk to Gazmolf Futzwangler over at Stonecrag Gorge. He’s the goblin in charge of this expedition!

Gaining Reputation

After completing a couple of simple quests in Stonecrag Gorge, head to Broken Precipice in the north of the zone. Besides finding Grebin Fastfizzle in a bit of a predicament and one of the most amusing things I’ve seen on the beta so far (thanks Cool), be sure to loot any chests in the area. Each will contain a Highmaul Relic and a variable number of Gorian Artifact Fragments. A number of mobs may also be farmed for Highmaul Relics on the northern side of the river.

Both may be handed into Sallee Silvercamp in the Ruins of Na’gwa for some Steamwheedle Preservation Society rep.

Sallee

Each item rewards a variable amount of reputation:

Seek out the following elites for an additional 500 rep after handing in their prized drops to Gazmolf Futzwangler at the Ruins of Na’gwa (located by the fork in the road, west of Lok’rath).

rare steamwheedle drops

These drops are BoA and may be looted more than once. A rare Garrison mission also rewards a Highmaul Relic.

Reputation Rewards

There are two quartermasters located in Ashran and Nagrand.

Honored

Revered

Exalted

For those wondering if their Bloodsail Admiral status will affect this rep grind, Jonathan LeCraft confirmed it won’t be an issue.

You’ll find a lot of Steamwheedle members scattered around Nagrand including this slightly crazed castaway hidden behind a waterfall. I suspect he’s been there a while because he kept calling for his companion Wibson.

I just love how much of a role archaeology is playing this expansion, from jumping puzzles to a certain pet trainer I’ll be able to battle.

    • there are various levels to them but I actually found one of the rares in SMV more annoying until I found a way to access the spot from above.

  1. But What are those things??? … Anyway, I showed you the box too!!! Even had a pic for you. =p

I think I might of found away with that rare your talking about. The one rare I am having trouble with figuring out is that Orc with the 4 guys/gals around him up north in Nagrand. When he summons his wolves it isn’t a second later he sucks them back in and heals up full. I think it is a % base when it is cast so I am at a lost atm on it.

    • I managed too kill him already but thank you anyway. I saw someone killing the shaman while I was trying to take his pic and he died pretty fast.

Take your time with the art. Look forward to seeing what you do in the meantime though. :)

  2. Anyway, as a side note so I don’t forget… I am losing my mind I think… I am gonna take some time from finishing many drawings and start learning body shapes again… I use to be real good at drawing but stopping for so many years ruins ya… I might sketch for a month or so. Just a note to you and myself. If you want me to workon anything for you though just give me a heads up.

  3. Any clue how Bloodsail Admiral’s may fare with the Steamwheedle Preservation Society? I know I get a less than warm welcome when I set foot near Goblin quest hubs now, will the same be a problem in Warlords?

    • I would imagine it’s the same since they are a branch of the Cartel. I do seem to recall getting rep for each of the goblin towns for one goblin quest but I can’t remember which one it was.

      • sigh Well, then I guess I’ll need to designate a non-Bloodsail Admiral to be my first toon into Draenor. I certainly do not relish the idea of trying to get back on their good side. lol

        • I’ve actually only noticed them in Nagrand (which is the last levelling zone) but I could be wrong. Will see if I can find out either way for you. No promises.

            • It’s been confirmed by one of the Senior Game Designers, Bloodsail Admirals won’t be affected. :)

            • Oh thank goodness!!!! Omg that makes me SO freaking happy. I really did NOT want to pick another toon to be my first one out in Draenor. Do you have a link to the source so I can SS it and show some friends? If not, no worries, Ill dig around. But THANKS for the info!
