It’s been a while since I defeated GG Engineering so today I took the last flask I had been saving to see if I could clear the rank within the hour.
Dark Summoner – Use the spotlight to stun the ghosts and DPS them ASAP. Each ghost killed removes the invulnerability shield around the Dark Summoner for ~15secs so save your CDs for that time. Just don’t get too close to the ghosts or you’ll get one-shot as their range is pretty far. Rinse, repeat.
Battletron – Stay at maximum range while saving your defensive CDs for the explosions. I also tried a few talent swaps to help out with any instant casts using From Darkness, Comes Light, Divine Insight and Desperate Prayer for some added insurance.
Meatball – This guy packs a punch when he’s MEATBALL MAD! so stack as many orbs as you can for the Strange Energy buff. I managed to get 44 stacks before I finished him off. I used Mindbender for that extra bit of OOMPH!
Completing Rank 7 gives the Brawlin’ and Shot Callin’ achievement as well as the Brawler title. You also gain access to a special VIP area as well as another fist weapon for a cost of 2175 Justice Points.

I consider it a good day when I’m able to complete the Neverending Spritewood event, especially after trying it on the PTR several times so I knew what to expect. When the patch went live the crystal became a lot more elusive with people constantly camping the area. As a result I was only able to do it once or twice before last Tuesday.
After the latest maintenance I was able to confirm a much shorter respawn rate on the crystal (~15mins or so) but there appears to be a lockout for clicking it more than once a day. In addition to this, a higher number of Scary Sprites can spawn during the one minute encounter so a chance at the pet is even higher.
Last night I managed to click the crystal after farming some of the spectral monk companions and having all of the Timeless Isle buffs (minus the artifact). Then about halfway through the encounter, a couple of flagged players tried to make the event more difficult by standing right on top of the sprites but I didn’t flag. Around the same time a pali started shooting a few heals my way making the encounter a little easier towards the end.
Today I was able to spawn eight Scary Sprites which was quite exciting compared to the two I managed to get last night. I also had Cool who gave me his Hand of Protection, a few heals and with two monk companions, I lucked out with the drop.
Just to confirm, the item may be looted by anyone in the group so you can help out another player by healing them if you don’t have a high DPS class. Note that you cannot directly aid anyone DPSing the sprites i.e the person clicking the crystal and the encounter only lasts a minute. Funnily enough, I had another pali asking for an invite during my encounter.

Woot! Here’s to the Dandelion Frolicker.
When I first started Pet Brawling, I focused on getting the easy ones out of the way and I must admit it was pretty easy since the variety of pets you encountered was fairly limited back then. But after completing the heal one and Pet Brawler towards the end of last year, I thought I was done with it until they introduced a new achievement and pet reward. I really wasn’t looking forward to grinding out 250 wins, especially with the huge number of variations in teams these days but then pet treats were added so I started doing the weekly quest.
A week ago I was sitting at 197 wins for Brutal Pet Brawler with a lead on Master Pet Brawler from earlier achievements so I’ve been thinking more and more about getting those done. It also helped break up the monotony between rare camping sessions so tonight I decided to focus on just that. I even had a rather surprising winning streak which kept me motivated.
Now to level him up tomorrow.
