Staff of the Hidden Master x5

As one of the many Lost Treasures hidden around Pandaria, this is an interesting item as it has five different spawn spots all within Paoquan Hollow in the north-western part of Valley of the Four Winds. I’ve been lucky enough to spot this item twice. Once on my Hunter while questing in the area and then later on Cymre while pet battling.

Staff in tree

As a rule of thumb, you can only see these items once on each toon (just like the relics used for the Riches of Pandaria) series.

When I saw this second staff, I noticed that Navi was on so I asked if she was interested but she wasn’t sure if she had picked it up already. It turned out she couldn’t see it because she had it already. Shame, since I was hoping to use it as a Winter Veil gift but oh well.

Now if you use some kind of addon that tracks co-ordinates (I use TitanPanel), you can use these to pinpoint the spawn spots.

15.4 29.1
17.5 35.7
19.1 37.9
15.0 33.7
19.0 42.5

Good luck!

  1. Maybe it will help now that I know what it looks like. I’m using an Addon called Lost Treasures so I’ve got the spawn coordinates but still haven’t found a one.

  2. With everyone looking most days, Ay finally came upon one last week while mining. Thdoria “Squeeeeed!” since she knew it would be hers, lol.

    • Tome – I painstakingly looked up all the coordinates and pics that were available for all the treasures so it felt really satisfying when I got my title/achievement. GL with the hunt.

      Ay – LOL, nice.

  3. With all that mist and undergrowth, finding the staff seemed a bit like feeling my way through the mirk when I was looking for it – lots of panning the mouse over the base of trees and hoping for the best. Didn’t actually see it in the end, just saw my cursor change and speed-looted it!

Thank you for the co-ords. For some reason I thought it was a once-per-account item, but I’d really like the staff for my druid alt off on another server. Now that I know it’s possible, I’ll definitely be hunting for it again!

  4. This one was hard to find, a lot of undergrowth as mentioned and many monsters in the area. I also used the addon, Lost Treasures which works with Tom Tom to find the treasures. I do wish now that I had paid more attention on who I was picking up what with, not all we’re account bound and some would have been better suited to other toons.

  5. Wow, I never would’ve guessed that you couldn’t even see the item if you’d already collected it. Good to know :)

I got one on my Warlock in Jade Forest and thought it was a quest item when I clicked on it. Totally surprised (and excited) when the achievement popped up :)

Did exactly the same, had a sheet of paper with all the co-ords next to me, who needs these ‘addons’ pfft! ;D

  7. LOL Kaitz! I don’t have map coords, so I really need the addons! But I’m glad Cym put a pic there – it’s annoying looking for something when you have no idea what it looks like.

    • I was worried I was doing something wrong when I couldn’t see it. I suspected that you could only see it once per toon (which would be a good move, I thought) and it was a lovely thought though :)

    • Nyx – I know exactly what you mean.

Starre – That is true, although some seem to be class based.

Josh – Unexpected achievements are always the best :D

Kaitz – Exactly! The pics are a great help though (at least the ones I saw).

Nav – …esp when you’re on the wrong side of the wall, tree etc. when you just have co-ordinates.
