Gokk’lok’s Shell
6If you’re looking for something a bit different, head west of Rikkitun Village and get ready to get wet. Swim out a short distance until you reach Gokk’lok’s Grotto in the Dread Wastes. Once there, you’ll get an underwater breathing buff called Enchanted Essence as long as you remain in the area.
Gokk’lok is a huge neutral 91 elite clam with 16.3M Health. Just like the other neutral elite mobs in Pandaria, you will receive a fun, unique item once killed but while others only give you several charges – this one does not.
Throughout the fight, a variety of adds will spawn to help protect Gokk’lok (Spindlegrin Remora, Elder Spindlegrin, Seacarp, Overgrown Seacarp, Colossal Seacarp). Most of these will be normal mobs, however, expect to fight some elite ones too.
When Gokk’lok dies, a quest will pop up – Promises of Gold.
As soon as the creature died, a strange group of sprites appeared and took its pearl away.
The sprites have a village nearby, called Rikkitun Village. Perhaps you should investigate.
Completing the quest rewards you with Gokk’lok’s Shell.
As you can see, you’ll appear in your underwear standing inside a clam with a repetitive bashful emote for the 2min duration (provided you don’t move). Hmm, seems your weapon can still be seen though…
You can also fish while under the illusion so pick out a nice spot and relax for a while.
On a side note, I finally managed to get the Ancient Pandaren Fishing Charm yesterday. It seems Christmas Day had something special for me after all – I’ve been trying to collect this item since Mists went live.
Power Boost
0I wanted an easy way to keep track of my upgraded pets as well as the ones I plan to upgrade later. The Flawless [XXX] stones are obtained through Pet Tamer battles while the generic (and family) ones may be collected via successful wild battles. Note that winning against a higher enemy team gives you a better chance at a stone.
If your bag space can handle it, I recommend levelling your green quality pets to 25 and then using the stone so you’ll get credit for levelling the same pet twice – particularly if you’re going for Pro Pet Mob. Remember that using a stone against a max level pet will downgrade it by two levels.
Once you have the achievement, don’t be afraid to use your stone on your uncommon pets (or lower) ASAP for easier levelling.
Ideally, I would stone the pets you can’t upgrade any other way like the quest reward pets and argent pets, etc. as well as some of the low spawn pets below.

Who’s the Master Now?
5A while ago, I took on Nomi as my cooking apprentice which required me to teach him the art though a series of dailies. This allowed me to earn reputation with him – although technically I think it should have been the other way around (since I was the one teaching him the skills, after all).
After Nomi masters all six lessons, you earn an achievement as well as a reward – a choice of 5x cooking ingredients plus the apron – which otherwise would have cost me 55 Ironpaw Tokens in total.
From then on, he will offer you A Token of Appreciation each day you talk to him. This quest is actually a daily gift which could include a number of meals but will always include one Ironpaw Token.
Thanks for checking to make sure I’m doing well! I’ve been able to help out the Ironpaws today and they said I could give this to you.
So far I’ve received a number a Mad Brewer’s Breakfasts, although you can generally get any of the meals below:
-
2-5x Mogu Fish Stew
- 1x Perpetual Leftovers (note the CD = reusable)
I was also excited to read about some new changes coming in 5.2
“Buy the Farm: Players at Sunsong Ranch can now purchase the land from Farmer Yoon. Once owned it becomes a rest point like an Inn” Finally!

Now if I could just train my dog to kill the annoying vermin and birds on the farm – Your rep with ‘Dog’ has increased by [xxxx] (like Nomi)
