To many of you, the following movie needs no introduction but The Princess Bride was the very first movie I ever purchased back when VHS was a popular format. It was also the start of my movie collection which would eventually lead to a wide selection of DVDs.

When Townlong Steppes opened up on the beta, I was thrilled to find these Swamp Rodents inhabiting the Lower and Upper Sumprushes just like in the movie. I secretly hoped there would be some sort of hidden treasure in there like a piece of Buttercup’s torn dress or something.

Lower Sumprushes

Buttercup: Westley, what about the R.O.U.S.’s?
Westley: Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don’t think they exist.

R.O.U.S - They do exist!

When the new faction came out for Dominance Offensive, I wasn’t all that interested at first but doing the dailies hasn’t been too much of an issue seeing that I’ve maxed out all the other ones to date. I was a little surprised to hear that the Sumprush Rodents would be associated with this new faction though as I thought it would be a wild battle pet for Townlong Steppes. It turns out that these endearing looking beasts can be captured after a lot of farming – 2000x Domination Point Commissions or Lion’s Landing Commissions to be exact.

Rodent Crate

Even though I started my rep grinding a day later than most, I’ve still managed to accumulate 744 commissions to date. However, Coolidge decided to surprise me with the Rodent Crate today which allowed me to battle to my heart’s content. <3

Luckily for me, I managed to find a rare after my 5th battle.

Sumprush Rodent

From what I noticed, the rodents ranged between levels 23-25 but it was a pretty easy battle for your A-level team. Since the crate itself can only be placed inside Domination Point (or its Alliance counterpart) you will need to have at least done the opening quests to open up the landing site since the base is phased. However, once the crate has been used, anyone with the Pet Battle skill can battle the seemingly endless supply of beasts for the entire 20mins it’s up.

So thx again Cool for my Blogiversary gift. This was one pet I was dying to have as it reminds me of one of my favourite movies :D
