Things sure have changed since I last battled the Grand Master Pet Tamers of Pandaria but I was excited about trying the Northrend and Cataclysm tamers since they were new to me. Last night I completed the Cataclysm part but the fact that Obalis – the Grand Master in Uldum had Epic pets was a new one for me.
Today I had the remaining five in Pandaria to battle but I left it until the last hour or so to try them out (I forgot about server shutdown). I’m not sure if the tamers were easier or I just had a good combination but I didn’t have too much trouble with them. I didn’t even have to change my team up for the most part. Those pet bandages sure came in handy though :P
So with 7mins left on the clock, I flew to the Wilds from Townlong Steppes to see if I could get the last tamer under my belt before I dropped out. At around 5mins left before the servers went down, I DC’ed from Battle.net but kept going with my battle. Luckily I won with 4mins left on the clock. I hearthed back to the Vale to see how far I could get with Aki. I knew I wouldn’t be able to complete the battle in time but it was a great way to gauge any change, if any, with my kick-ass team.
I guess I should have expected this but with 2mins left before I dropped out, this is what I saw…
Yep, LEGENDARY pets.
Something to look forward to tomorrow :)
I just had a look through my beta shots and it looks like Aki’s pets had the same stats but they sure look more intimidating with the orange colour :P
Last night I defeated the Master Pet Tamer for Cataclysm earning me the achievement - Taming Cataclysm. So I’m now on the home stretch to defeat all the Master Pet Tamers of Pandaria – meaning they all have EPIC pets. Last time I found Farmer Nishi the easiest to defeat so I decided to try her first. One down four to go.
Four days ago, I finally managed to get my Baby Ape on the Isle. Definitely the hardest capture for the entire month but I’m glad I logged my toons in various zones just for this purpose.
A couple of nights ago, I managed to max out the last profession we needed for Working Better as a Team meaning we now have heirloom pants for our alts :) Cooking by far was the most time consuming to level up due to the large amount of materials needed for banquet meals but I was determined to get my Brew cooking up for the two lost treasures I found over a week ago. It helps when you have a few alts doing their bit with the four starter plots you get at 85-86 (even if you can’t earn rep with The Tillers yet). Cool helped me farm materials too on his farm making it that much quicker to max out my cooking.
Yesterday we tried our first random Heroic getting Stormstout Brewery but not before we made sure all our gear was optimised with reforges, enchants and gems. Although I had to ask “are you sure this is Heroic?” once inside as it seemed as easy as the normal dungeon.
He sure died in a funny position
But I do like the random Hozen costumes you get from drinking the brew
I’m not sure what we’re supposed to do with all the extra lesser charms though as I’m starting to build up my second stack of them. It’s nice that they can stack up to 180 but if you can only trade them in once a week, I’m going to be swimming in them for a while. At least, our Order of the Cloud Serpent rep will be finished soon and we’re already revered with The Tillers so it shouldn’t be as time consuming doing all the dailies.
No doubt my rep with Nat Pagle will the hardest to acquire with all the rare catches I’ll need. So far, I’ve caught two of the same rare fish so I guess that will give me something to do after all this other stuff is taken care of.
I admit I’m excited about some of the new changes coming in 5.1, particularly with the Pet Battle System. I love that we’ll be able to upgrade our pets with the rare and uncommon battle stones. Looks like we’ll have to wait for the epic ones in a later patch though.
With the Darkmoon Hatchling and new Darkmoon Pet Tamer coming, it’s a good thing I’ve been storing up my Darkmoon tickets just for this purpose. It makes me wonder how easy it will be to find a Darkmoon Glowfly though as the ones during the Wanderer’s Festival as pretty scarce – but the faire does last a week so you never know. I’m also glad that my tailoring is up there so I’ll be able to get the Imperial Moth and Imperial Silkworm over time.
The Spear of Xuen is a rare pandaren archaeology artifact, created from 180x Pandaren Archaeology Fragments and up to three Pandaren Pottery Shards.
- The broken pieces of this spear radiate power. Perhaps they can be reassembled into a usable weapon?
- Crafted during the Zandalari Troll Wars, this imposing spear is surprisingly lightweight and flexible. Its lacquered wooden shaft is gouged with deep scars, though the tip appears completely unscathed. Judging by the length of this weapon and its date of origin, you presume it was a mounted weapon intended for use from the back of a flying serpent. Scratched into the weathered handle is a note: “The only opponent is yourself.” Xuen, the White Tiger, is legendary for his ferocity and prowess in battle. It is at his temple, high in the mountains of Kun Lai Summit, that hopeful warriors temper their strength with discipline.
Another item that is just as powerful as a Heroic dungeon piece and only requires 85 to use!
Ordinarily, I would have given this item to my Hunter but since she doesn’t favour polearms any more, my Pali can have some fun with it :P
After competing the Finders Keepers achievement last week, I’ve been consistently looking for more lost treasures to add to my count. My tally was stuck at seven and then nine for a few days until I managed to find one more item to give me the next achievement – One Man’s Trash…
Cymre Jones has a brand new torch :)
