Shadow Pirate

This week as a change of pace, WoW Insider decided to come up with their own transmog contest. I didn’t even know about this until I saw a post from Töki so I sent in my entry based around one of my old tranmog designs just before the deadline was due.

Here’s what we were given:

To create a transmogrification outfit of your own that builds on or complements a single piece of gear (armor or weapon) that you like. Submit your outfit by Aug. 20 at 11:59 p.m. EDT and you’ll have the chance to win fabulous prizes and have your outfit featured here on WoW Insider.

Shadow Pirate

Head: First Mate Hat
Shoulder: Mantle of Prophecy
Chest: Cindercloth Vest
Waist: Spellfire Belt
Hands: Infernoweave Gloves
Legs: Crimson Silk Pantaloons
Feet: Infernoweave Boots
Weapon: Siphoning Dagger
Off-Hand: Petrified Camel Haunch

As I’ve mentioned before, this Shadow Pirate design was my Shadow set for a while but for the purposes of this contest, I’ve chosen the First Mate Hat as the feature piece.

It just so happened that I was helping Beldarian in Uldum one night when I spotted a chest inside one of the ruins. Opening it, I found the Petrified Camel Haunch which I got a real kick out of (when previewing the item). Little did I know it would be used in my pirate transmog sometime later. This also happened to be my back-up transmog for the Dath’remar fashion show in April. You can see me doing a quick switcheroo with the outfit if you look through their stream from the night.

The prizes will be loot card codes from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.

But in the words of Dawn Moore, may the best transmog win!

Now it’s back to waiting for the next Mogolympics results… as well as this contest.

Scarlet Farming Continues

Tonight my scarlet set farming continued. Last time, I managed to get the pants, gloves, bracers, shoulders, helm (and dog whistle – which was a nice touch). Today I set out to get the chest, tabard and boots. As you can see, I managed to get the tabard and Ravager, as well as the belt. Hopefully, I can get the last two pieces sooner rather than… never.

Scarlet set

I’m not entirely happy with the boots as I don’t normally go for such bulky items. But I’ll be keeping an eye on the AH for the remaining pieces.

Wish me luck…

Speaking of my Hunter, she’s currently a Blood Elf on the beta and has two new pets to show for it – she’s still 85 :P

Orange cat

Black cat

Aren’t they sexy looking beasts?

I was hoping to get the white one too as I think that’s my favourite colour but they come at a higher level so that will have to wait.

Alliance Balloon

I’ve been meaning to add this pet to my collection for a while. In fact, I tried to do this quest on the beta but the quest was not available from the NPC, so tonight I set out to finally get it on my Alliance Priest.

All you have to do is talk to Vin behind the Orphanage in Stormwind City. She offers the quest Blown Away which requires you to collect 5 Windswept Balloons around the City.

The quest seemed to be more difficult compared to the Horde version since I couldn’t find any initially. Luckily, Tome was still on so I asked her about it. She confirmed that it wasn’t as easy as the Horde one but to look around the trees, etc. Sure enough, I found them after about 2mins tops.

Alliance Balloon

Say hello to pet no. 183 :)
