MoP Opening Cinematic Revealed

Unlock the Mysteries of Pandaria

You’ve ended Deathwing’s destructive rampage and saved the dragonflights from extinction. Now you must unlock the mysteries of the lost continent and discover the dark secrets of Pandaria’s past. Explore ancient kingdoms hidden since before the Sundering, plunder vast treasures from the depths of the forgotten vaults, and rise to defend Pandaria from the shadow of a long buried evil – before it’s too late.

Wow, what an awesome cinematic!

That was worth the wait and it did not seem like (almost) 4mins at all. Was it just me or did Chen seem like a huge cuddly stuffed animal? I also loved the bit where he smirked, spit out the twig and continued fighting. That was such a Bruce Lee moment! He often used bits of humour in fight scenes.

Bruce was so agile and fast that they would have to slow down his fight scenes in movies. Even his son Brandon showed similar skills but sadly they were both taken from this world at a young age.

I haven’t been disappointed with any of the cinematics yet and this was no different. Having played the beta since the first week, I feel even more excited after seeing this great piece of work. Well done Blizzard!

Just imagine what the movie would look like with this kind of quality. Here’s hoping…

Want more?

How about an achievement which ties in the scene from the cinematic? All you have to do is visit the Shrine of Fellowship in The Jade Forest and then re-enact Chen’s action by straightening the broken incense burner found near the bridge. Doing that will reward the Restore Balance achievement along with 10 achievement points.

So who’s excited?

  3. Love it! This art style and music for Mists is just so beautiful. That alone would have sold me. But I like that it had that little moment of comedy in there too. It was a nice reflection of the question that was being asked throughout: What are we fighting for? Fighting for a normal life with those fun moments resonates better than fighting just to fight some more.

  5. I thought for a moment when the Human and Orc’s weapons crossed they would move the faces in to match the WC/WCII covers. Ah well.

I truly enjoyed the cinematic and all he beats.

  6. It felt comical and entertaining, definitely in a good way. I most certainly loved Chen putting both in their place. A bit less then the epicness I think we’ve been accustomed to but it was still very good.
