Since the Pet Battle System has just been implemented on the beta, I was looking at the pets I didn’t have. The Magic Lamp seemed the most doable (short of buying one) so I was going to see how far away I was on actually making one for myself. I logged into my Draenei to find that my enchanting was only 460 (Ouch!) so I didn’t think it was worth the trouble. I wasn’t far from asking someone in trade to make it after several select purchases though – thx Coolidge. Luckily someone was able to make it after a few minutes so I was able to sell it through the neutral AH – making that pet no. 179.
As I stated earlier, Arvash offered me three of the TCG pets. He thought it only fair as that’s how many he ended up giving Navi. At the time, I wasn’t sure if he could offer me that many as I only had 22 left before my collection was complete. But I should have known better as his collection is vast!
Once I figured out the website to use, it was just a matter of putting in the three scratch codes so I had something to hand in to Lando in Booty Bay. I
made a boo-boo with one of the codes though. I don’t know if it was being starstruck by all of Arv’s toys, his generosity or the rare that popped up as I was standing there.
First of all, my bag was full when the first code was accepted and I had the dreaded ‘your bag is full’ msg. Luckily I had some mail from Landro waiting for me. Coolidge made fun of me for never having bag room but I said I picked up some stuff in the raid which was true enough. It was even funnier when Arv said he had the same problem with his walk-in closet :P
But my other boo-boo came when on the second code, I accidentally selected the wrong realm. OMG! I couldn’t believe I had done that. At first I didn’t notice because the redemption code was given to me but when I tried to hand it in to Lando it was invalid. This afternoon, I sent in another game ticket feeling hopeful. The GM stated that I would need to redeem the code on that server (even though I had no toon there) and then ask to have it sent to my desired realm and toon. I’m happy to say that I’m now the proud owner of all three TCG pets. Woot!
A grell for a wannabe lock? Arv said I should design a mog for it :P Here’s the one I did for Mog Madness. Perhaps I should do another one sometime :)
Oh and that tabard I was talking about?
Third time’s the charm right?
Turns out it was true for my tabard as well as I stated in the ticket I couldn’t quite remember which tabard I had (maybe Tabard of Flame) but I do remember the 2000pts I had to collect to redeem it. When they responded, they stated that the only TCG tabard they could find a record for was the Tabard of Frost which I still had… say what?
So I logged in to check Altoholic and sure enough, I did have it… guess where it was though…
My Void Storage… like I look in there all the time. I’m not blonde, I swear! It’s just been that kind of week… :P
Cymre pretty much sums my expression about the whole thing…
So thanks again Arv for pets 180-182 :D
Cool and I went into Trial of the Crusader today so that he could pick up a couple of transmog items. We had a go at the first boss but it proved quite difficult with our combination. Luckily Arv logged in soon after that so I asked if he could help us out. Thankfully he was willing to come.
With one extra person it was certainly a lot easier, which meant I could stay at ranged and Cool could help with the kobolds while Arv tanked. The bosses went down easily enough, although there was one odd glitch on Icehowl as we didn’t get punted back to the wall. It was a little unnerving on the first charge as I was already pretty close to him after being targeted, he didn’t even have to turn. Luckily it all went according to plan and we had no issues.
Here are the kill shots for the afternoon.
Straight after that it was disco fever as we suddenly had a disco ball, foam swords, riding tigers and a handful of other goodies. You almost didn’t know where to look as there was so much stuff to play with. A lot of my favourites made a showing, including the Ethereal, sarcophagus and bubblegum tree.
Disco Inferno and Sandbox Tiger
Foam Sword Rack and Robot Chicken
For some reason, Cool said he needed one of these :P
This was a new one for me.
It was great to finally meet Arv after all this time and I’m sure we’ll be getting together again sometime but it didn’t end there. He was also generous enough to offer me THREE of the TCG pets I didn’t have. I would have been really happy with one as he mentioned helping me out with the scarab pet earlier.
So thanks again Arv, it was fun :)
Elektra is a kunoichi – female ninja assassin – who wields a pair of bladed sai as her trademark weapon. She was the daughter of a Greek ambassador who studied the martial arts as an adolescent. While in the US with her father, she began studies in political science at New York’s Columbia University. A year later, Elektra and her father were held hostage by terrorists in a building on campus. Wearing a scarf as a mask, Matt Murdock (Daredevil) with Elektra’s help defeated the terrorists. However, a policeman mistook Elektra’s father for one of the terrorists and shot him dead. Emotionally shattered, Elektra decided she no longer believed in the law and wanted to withdraw from the world.
She eventually studied martial arts with a sensei in Japan but later left to join the secret organisation of martial artists headed by Stick, who was also Murdock’s sensei. She spent a year in Stick’s order and greatly developed her martial arts skills. But, Stick asked her to leave the group because she was still filled with pain over her father’s death and hatred for the world she blamed for it.
After a brief discussion about Alias this week, decided to feature Elektra as the next Super in the series. My first introduction was during the Daredevil movie but was already sold on the character as Jennifer Garner was playing the role. When I found out there was a movie coming out with her in the lead, I was excited to see it but was quite disappointed with the story. However, I still thought it might be fun having a go at her costume.
Initially, I was going to attempt a leather set but found a lot more cloth pieces I could use, even though they weren’t completely red. Unfortunately, it was quite difficult to get the pose I wanted in the last shot but I did what I could with the limited number of animations.
Don’t forget to check out the rest of my Super Sunday series :)
