I’ve fallen in love with a lot of the creatures in Pandaria, particularly from a Hunter’s perspective, although many (like the cats) are just gorgeous to look at. I previously uploaded all of the ones I’ve come across in my travels which you can find in my Wildlife of Pandaria gallery.
I’m looking forward to taming one of the new cats but with so many colours, it’s hard to decide which one I’ll end up getting. Here are just a few of them.
There will be six new pet families available to Hunters in Mists.
Some of the Basilisks in Old Azeroth will be included in the six colours tameable, including Stranglethorn Vale. The one below may be found in The Jade Forest.
There are six colours roaming around Pandaria – black, blue, brown, green, pink and white. However, only three of these appear to be tameable.
They don’t really appeal to me but maybe they do to you.
There are four colour variations in the game right now – blue, grey, red and white.
Last night, Coolidge logged onto the beta to find that an Alliance hunter had tamed one of the Terracotta Guardians. They are classified as exotic (being Elementals) but how cool would it be to have one of your own? Blizzard seems to be in the process of working out how they want them to look as their skeleton has changed a couple of times now, they previously looked like a lion with the sleek neck.
Another exotic tame, these pets look just like the mount you’ll get from The Anglers rep. This family also includes the Fen Striders and other look-alike creatures from Outlands.
So hunter lovers, who are you looking to tame?
One of the upcoming rare elites in Pandaria, the Sha of Anger may be found in Kun-Lai Summit. He’s pretty easy to spot due to his size and used to be marked on the map whenever he was up.
Sha of Anger yells: My wrath flows freely!
These days, you’ll have to go looking for him if you want to tackle this elite. He’s also recently been classified as a rare elite.
He has a habit of teleporting every now and then (btwn three different spots in the zone) but always in the vicinity of other mobs, which can be detrimental as he buffs any unfriendly with Rage of the Sha, basically making them elite mobs with 814K health in the case of the Sprites and 1289K health for the Mushans.
When you’re relatively close to him, you’ll see an obvious change in the colour of the environment.
The other day I went exploring in Kun-Lai Summit again, after seeing the advertisement for “more people – get your Sha kill”. I wasn’t intending to join as I love doing this stuff with Cool but I thought it would be a great opportunity to do some research and take some pics.
It took a bit to find him when I arrived in the zone but after locating him, I saw the group there hadn’t made much of a dent in his health bar, but then again it didn’t seem like there were that many trying it.
If you fail to kill him within a specified time, he teleports to another spot. The same thing happens if you don’t engage him after about 15mins or so. The good thing is, he sacrifices the elite mobs around him as he disappears leaving their corpses and aggressive bonepickers happy to feast on their remains.
I’m really looking forward to trying this guy as well as Galleon… not sure when but it’s definitely on my Bucket List for Mists.
Brian over at WoW Headlines reminded me that’s it’s been a while since I did a Priest post, so here’s what’s new:
- Power Word: Fortitude had a tooltip error corrected: Infuses the target with vitality, increasing Stamina by 10% for 60 min.
- Shadowfiend now has a 3 minute cooldown, down from 4. Duration reduced to 12 sec, down from 15 sec.
- Archangel now has a 24 second duration for the Dark Archangel (Dark Evangelism) buff.
- Mindbender now has a 3 minute cooldown, down from 4.
- Void Tendrils is now limited to 5 targets.
- Glyph of Fading has been renamed Glyph of Shadow Ravens: Your Shadow Orbs now appear as Shadow Ravens.
- Glyph of Fortitude has been renamed Glyph of Borrowed Time: Your Borrowed Time is now displayed visually.
- Glyph of Shackle Undead now changes the appearance of your Shackle Undead.
- Glyph of Shadowfiend has been renamed Glyph of Smallfiend: You summon 3 small Shadowfiends who each provide a third of the total mana return.
I have to admit, I’m a bit of a sucker for some of the glyphs at the moment. I’ve been playing around with the Glyph of the Heavens lately.
Here I am traversing down from a mountain peak in Kun-Lai Summit. I dared Coolidge last night to walk off the edge sans bubble. He declined and said I should try without levitate Maybe we could have a competition, the last to use their ability wins :P
I’ve been wanting to try the Glyph of Confession but haven’t gotten around to buying it yet, although I’ve read it’s nothing special.
I’ve also been using Mindbender which I like but with the new Glyph of Smallfiend (giving us 3 mini shadowfiends who each do ⅓ the damage, I was interested in trying it). I didn’t even have to change my minor glyph slot as it was already active. The only thing to do now was to see it in action.
Hmm, ok it doesn’t appear to be working yet :(
As a reminder, this is what Mindbender looks like. It basically trades out your old shadowfiend for one of these newer models and gives back a bit more mana while dishing out double the damage. That’s pretty good imo.
I’ve since re-learnt Holy Nova through glyphing. Oh how I’d miss you otherwise :P
But I think the nicest surprise was when I noticed that Glyph of Shackle Undead offers some cosmetic appeal.

New shackle animation
Whoa, what a difference! Although I don’t see using it on live but what better time to test these animations/spells than on the beta right?
A few other animations I observed as Disc:
Since I’ve been playing quite a lot of Diablo III lately, I was quite excited by the new Shadow glyph which turns your Shadow Orbs into ravens :P
I hadn’t tried speccing Shadow before today (for beta) but this changed my mind… what can I say, it was a good opportunity to kill two
rav birds with one stone :P
They only last a couple of seconds, so it was a little tricky getting a good shot of them but you get the idea. You’ll see a small flock of them flying around you like the Angelic Bulwark I mentioned a while back.
Those who know me well can tell you that I love Superman. The fact that I loved the Smallville Series, having watched every single episode in all ten seasons, Tom Welling is one of my favourite actors to play the role. The series focused more on his role of Clark Kent rather than Superman but I loved all the Superman references throughout the entire series. But I can’t help but be a little disappointed that we never really got to see him in the full suit even in the finale.

I was also a fan of Christopher Reeve in the first Superman movie and thought Brandon Routh did a great job in Superman Returns too (in which I was also cast as an extra in the movie). So it was only natural that I feature the Man of Steel as my first male superhero of the series.
Superman’s costume hasn’t changed a hell of a lot over the years which is unlike a lot of other superheroes out there.
So if you had to choose your three favourite Superheroes, who would they be?
Who knows, you might even see one featured in the upcoming weeks :)
Don’t forget to check out the rest of my Super Sunday series :)
