Lately I’ve been thinking that some people may not know a few of the “ins and outs” to navigating my blog, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to let you know some of the things you might have missed since the move and added theme changes.
Firstly, by now you should hopefully all have:
- my new address – http://www.bubblesofmischief.com which comes with
- a new RSS feed – http://feeds.feedburner.com/BubblesOfMischief
Silver Dragons – If you’re looking for something specific in terms of rares there’s a page in the main menu dedicated to all rares in the game. I’ve almost completed all zones so far so if you’re looking for all the rares in Uldum, for example you can find it there.
Similarly, if you would like to know about some of the fun things in the game, you can find a lot of these (at least the ones I actually own), under the ‘Novelty Items’ page of the main menu.
Costumes - Another one of my favourite things to do in WoW is creating outfits, the more popular posts including various superheroes and professions. You’ll find a lot of my old transmog sets as well. All may be found under the top menu of the same name.
Pet Battles – (new for MIsts) This section contains a How-to guide, a table listing the strengths/weaknesses of pets, lists all the Pet Tamers on all continents as well as my popular Wild Pet series.
On the right hand side, you’ll see my sidebar. The tabbed module (under subscriptions) offers several widgets where you can switch between:
- Recent Posts
- Popular Posts
- Recent Comments
The tabbed module will also remember which tab you had last selected. The six most ‘recent posts’ are listed in case you missed a few along the way, since I have been known to post up to 3 or 4 times a day. Thankfully that’s not too often :P The same goes for the six most ‘popular posts’ in terms of comments. You have the option of backtracking further by using the ‘Show More’ option at the bottom.
The ‘Featured Content’ otherwise known as my interactive banner, generally showcases the six most popular items on the Blog (or highlights certain posts for whatever reason). These news items may or may not change too often.
I would like to encourage everyone who sends me a tweet about my blog post, etc on twitter to pls consider making that comment on the blog post itself. Mainly because tweets come and go very fast on Twitter so I would love to be able to see all the comments to a relevant post for as long as the blog is active.
If you’d like to add me through one of my social media accounts there are a couple of ways to do that as well.
- the interactive media buttons above the main menu bar go to my Twitter, Youtube and RSS feeds.
- the same thing can be found on the sidebar about halfway down the page – look for the ‘Join the Crowd’ module.
My ‘Wall of Fame’ is an easy way to reward my top commenters to the site by not only displaying the number of comments each lovely person has given but is also an easy way to connect back to them via a link to their blog if they have one (unless the gravatar hovercards are active).
Hope that helps for some of the functionality you may have missed in the past.
So thanks for visiting and see you around the blog :)
Last night, I logged in to see if I could defeat the first boss in Borderlands. It took me a few goes on my laptop (as I attempted to play in bed) but I finally got her! Whoo hoo!
Kiting the adds around seemed to do the trick and I’ve started using my Templar as my companion which has really been handy at times.
During Part II, we’re tasked with putting together Kulle’s body. I must say that I thought he had a pretty creepy voice so he played his part very well. But then again, we did have a talking head in our bags…
So I must be getting better because I one-shot this guy! Not sure if he’s one of the easier ones in the game or how long that will last though because according to Cool, the last boss in Act II is the most difficult one in the game. At this stage, I didn’t know who the boss was and didn’t want to know as I wanted it to be a surprise, like everything else. So I asked for no hints so I could see what I was dealing with and how I would do.
When I started the fight, there were the usual mobs and I was excited when I got Belial to around 20% without too much effort… that is until he reset his health and morphed into some huge demon with pincers. This is where things got tricky. I died a few times trying to get this bit down and had to port back to town to repair after most (if not all of) my gear had broken. I even changed one of my talents around before trying again.
After my trip back, I levelled just as the fight started. Gah! I wanted to look at my talents and see if I could change a couple of things around, so while I was fighting the initial mobs again, I decided to try and change my talents anyway. Luckily for me I didn’t die this attempt and just kept moving when those green puddles came. Also watch his huge pincers as they’ll likely strike around where you’re standing.
I made sure to soak up all the health globes I could. In fact, just to be safe I used every one I could see, timing them between the stuff on the ground or at least manoeuvred myself (sometimes using teleport) when things got dicey :P
But I FINALLY did it!
I’m so proud of myself and also surprised by how much I’m enjoying this game. I don’t see it taking over my love of WoW but it sure came out at the right time. By the time I’m done with this game (not sure how many toons I’ll make or difficulties I’ll get through but) it’ll probably be around the time that Mists comes out.
So this is how I look at the end of Act II. I was so excited when I had an offhand that wasn’t a book. I mean we all need some stress balls at some stage of our lives, don’t we? :P
Stay tuned for Act III…
OK, so apparently this has been going around for a while but this will be my first attempt at this kind of fill-in-the-blanks story. I’m not sure how many of these there are but I know of this one and a more recent one posted by Matthew McCurley today at Wow Insider. So let me start by backtracking a bit with this first story.
I made sure not to read the story so that when I inserted the words it would be a complete surprise so I’ll be reading it for the first time with you guys.
The original list:
- PROPER NOUN
- PLURAL NOUN
- NAME OF FAVOURITE DEAD ALLIANCE PALADIN
- PART OF THE BODY
- PAST TENSE OF BODILY FUNCTION
- ORC NAME
- EMOTION THAT YOU FEEL WHEN YOU LOSE A REALLY IMPORTANT ROLL BY 1
- FAVOURITE FARM ANIMAL
- BODILY FLUID
- TAMEABLE CREATURE
- PART OF A SHIP
- PLURAL OF AN ORGAN FOUND IN THE HUMAN BODY
- NAME OF FAVOURITE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
- ADJECTIVE)(NAME OF CLIMATE) (NAME OF SEASON
- THE LARGEST NUMBER YOU CAN IMAGINE
- THE FIRST WORD YOU THINK OF
- Iron Boot Flask
- Family jewels
- Uther the Lightbringer
- wind serpent

- early temperate autumn
And here’s the end result:
Once upon a time, the hungry king of Stormwind, Varian Wrynn, was sailing on his ship, the Pride of Iron Boot Flask, when suddenly an orcish warship came out of the fog! “Battle stations!” the king ordered. “We will not let them take the playful children!” Two troll hunters fired arrows at Varian, narrowly missing his family jewels. “By Uther the Lightbringer‘s ghost! That was close,” Varian peed.
Garrosh Hellscream, warchief of the Horde, ran out onto the deck of his ship, the Thrall‘s Shock. “Varian, you cowardly horse! Come face me, and feel the might of my Mag’har blood!” Garrosh lunged forward and, with the grace of a wind serpent, landed on Varian’s ship. The two fought until the hull was turquoise with bones.
Suddenly, Chen Stormstout appeared in a puff of Ruby Slipper. “Stop this at once! Your battle has cut off shipments of the ingredients to my prized new ale, early temperate autumn Stout! If this continues, we will never have enough for Brewfest!” Varian and Garrosh looked at each other’s scrawny faces and agreed that this fighting was pointless. “Garrosh, what do you say we let bygones be bygones and have HUGE drinks together at Brewfest?” “A true warchief partners with food!”
Afterthought: Hmm, not to bad for my first attempt… will have to see later how the other one turns out.
Please let me know in the comments if there are any others you know of in the series :)
