Silverpine Forest borders Tirisfal Glades and Gilneas. As such, it’s a zone constantly under fire in Cataclysm. The Gilnean Liberation Front is pushing back against the Forsaken, which Lady Sylvanas Windrunner oversees. Read about the Dalaran Spellscribe who has since been removed from the game.
This guy was such a pain levelling, he’d always manage to sneak up on you when you weren’t looking.
Searing Gorge is a fiery and rocky zone home to a friendly subset of the Dark Iron Clan – the Thorium Brotherhood. Large mining operations take place in the Cauldron and Slag Pit. Players also get to interact with quirky NPCs like Lunk the non-violent ogre and Evonice Sootsmoker who believes in murder through sleep deprivation.
Reaching Searing Gorge used to be tricky for Alliance as they needed to complete a quest for the tunnel key allowing travel between Loch Modan and Searing Gorge (unless your rogue was high enough to pick the lock). The Horde on the other hand could use the path in Badlands past Kargath.
Western Plaguelands is starting to mend thanks to the efforts of the Cenarion Circle, but other parts are torn apart by war, such as Andorhal. After the fall of the Scarlet Crusade and victory in Northrend, Hearthglen was reclaimed by Tirion Fordring and now serves as a major friendly quest hub. The Battle for Andorhal questline also features reappearances of Thassarian and Koltira Deathweaver, two deathknights who wanted to remain friends after their experiences at Acherus instead of picking a side to fight on. The area is also the location of the Scholomance dungeon.
Putridius used to roam the streets of Andorhal, but now spawns in front of the door of Scholomance.
