Spectral Wind Rider

Recently I sent a Scroll of Resurrection out to one of my old Guildies and he accepted.

The Scroll of Resurrection allows you to invite a friend or guildmate back to World of Warcraft FREE for 7 days, and provides both you and your friend with epic benefits when your friend returns to World of Warcraft.

It’s been over a week now, so I checked my Battle.net account last night to see if I was able to collect the Spectral Wind Rider. You can claim this exclusive mount (Spectral Gryphon for Alliance or the Spectral Wind Rider for Horde) once your invited friend first renews their subscription and pays for 30 days of game time.

Here’s how to redeem your mount online:

  1. Log into your Battle.net account
  2. Under ‘Summary’ > click on your World of Warcraft: Cataclysm game account
  3. Towards the bottom of the page, click on ‘Referrals & Rewards’
  4. Select ‘Scroll of Resurrection’
  5. Go under ‘History’
  6. Click ‘Claim Reward’
  7. Select the toon you would like the mount on (make sure you’re logged off the game)

Note: this offer only applies to one toon.

Logging in today, I received this in the mail.

The mount is a lot more transparent than I expected. It almost reminds me of my Microbiology days at university. I was growing luminescent bacteria at the time and took one of the Petri dishes back to my college dorm room, sticking it in a drawer. My friends thought I was going to use it as some sort of tacky pick-up line.

Hey, would like like to come back to my room as see my luminescent bacteria?

Geez, what would you have said if I asked you that? Well there were some dodgy ones living there that year so you had to be careful who you said that to…

Anyway, I don’t think I’ll use this for my regular mount but it’s always good to try things once right?

So thanks Cybel for mount no. 135 :)

  1. I was excited when I got my Spectral Gryphon. I don’t really use it but I like to get it out and take screen shots of it. I have all these lovely mounts but usually just use flight form. I should go admire them more often!

  2. Grats on 135! What a collection!

I am still undecided if I want to give the spectral wind rider to one of my horde toons, or the gryphon to one of my alliance ones. D=

I like the look of the wind rider more, but I find myself playing Alliance more often. Oh decisions decisions…

  3. Wow, it actually looks almost *too* transparent for my tastes. Congratulations, however, on getting another mount in the stable!

  4. I was fortunate enough to have two friends use the scroll I gave them, so I gave Arv the Wind Rider and my human pally the Gryphon. They are okay mounts, but it is nice to ride around in a mount that everyone doesn’t have.

    • @TotA – I’m really not a fan of the spectral mount in the store, mainly the wings, but it’s just not as special when you see everyone with the same mount in the first few days of introduction.

@Euphyley – TY :) I would have liked to try a gryphon but I don’t play Alliance much.

@Hyperious – I feel the same way and thx for stopping by to comment :)

@Arvash – That would be great having both. I agree with you though having something unique to rise is great. That’s why I love my Arch bug mount.

  5. Ooooo, we ran AQ last night and I was thinking about the Archy mount, lol. I’ve been using my Swift Shorestrider mount from the TCG as my main ground mount lately……my guildies make fun of me because they say its an ugly mount……I think they’re just jealous, lol.
