Glory of the Raider (25 Player)

There was one achievement that had eluded us for the longest time. Back in Wrath a lot of us would go and run achievement runs which I was always game for since I’m such an achievement junkie. But back then with so many people, it was a hard one to do due to the polarity shifts.

Shocking! (25 Player)
Defeat Thaddius in Naxxramas without anyone in the raid crossing the negative and positive charges in 25 player mode.

I had always planned to go back at some stage to finish this off but you still needed a couple of people to help with this. A few weeks ago, Coolidge and I went into Naxx and killed all of the bosses leading to Thadius. We both took one side, tanking the 2 mini bosses which I secretly wanted to always try, getting punted looked like so much fun. Once we killed them I made sure I stayed at range. Having 2 in the raid meant that  neither of us had to move, an obvious advantage. So a few minutes passed and we got the kill but no achievement. When we checked our achievement log it turned out that we needed the kill on 25. Of course we had set the thing to 10 thinking that was the version we needed. Doh!

A few days later, we wrangled Azalpha and Norallin to help us with the kill again. With four it was a little bit tricky with two melee but had one ranged on either side. The first pull didn’t work out so well as we reached the enrage timer, so we decided to watch our polarity buffs for the added damage bonus. For that to happen, I leaped Nor over to my side so we could share the damage buff, when we could, while Cool and Az did the same thing. This second attempt made all the difference and he went down like a champ with four DPS.

There’s another achievement out of the way giving us our Glory of the Raider (25 Player). Thanks for the help boys :)

Thousand Needles Rares

Thousand Needles has become a flooded zone post-Shattering, with it’s numerous towering sandstone mesas found throughout the area. Heading towards Tanaris, the Shimmering Flats was a large, dry lake bed pre Cata. This dried-out salt flat was actually below sea level and the location of the world famous Mirage Racetrack, where fellow gnomes and goblins would race their rocket cars to finally settle the question of which race has better engineering. These days you’ll find the remaining NPCs on Fizzle and Pozzik’s Speedbarge. A few quests into the area and you’ll even get your own river boat.

This rare used to be in the back of the cave, but was called the Silithid Ravager back then.

Ironically, I had old shots of all these rares which don’t seem to have changed in their design but my picture taking skills had a lot to be desired back then. Plus, their levels were often sub-par so here they are again :)

This rare is no longer in the game although I'm told he is now part of a quest
