Get the look
Pretty early on I had the idea to do a Hallow’s End costume contest. My original idea was to do a fencing costume after looking through the AH and finding what was on offer. However, after finding some pants and top for the uniform I realised I wouldn’t be able to wield a sword so was forced to scrap that idea. Over the years I have managed to accumulate numerous outfits from past world events, dungeons and made items. But I still wanted to do something a little different, so I decided to do an archaeology outfit; like Harrison Jones (otherwise known as Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford).
For my first attempt, I was quite pleased as I was going for a more sexy, female version of an archaeology outfit. However the first comment I received stated that I looked more like a zombie from the Antiseptic-Soaked Dressing. Looking at the shirt there may be a point. That led me to try the look again after doing some more research. After spending a week trying to farm the Foreman Vest, this proved more difficult than I had anticipated. So here is my second attempt with one of my two backup vests ;P
Get the look
Head – Crochet Hat
Shirt – Common White Shirt
Chest – Green Woolen Vest
Waist – Canvas Belt
Legs – Durable Pants
Feet – Sandals of Summer
Off-hand – Grayson’s Torch
Oh and I also entered the contest offered by Kirina’s Closet. Apparently this is the third one she’s hosted but the first I’ve entered. I’m pleased to say that my entry won me Waddell’s Honorable Mention. Have a look at some of her entries; they are quite impressive. I personally like the Spartan, Spiderman and Elektra screenies.
When this became one of the April Fool’s Jokes for 2011, I had added the trailer to the Guild News hoping to catch a few out. Never-the-less I though it was a very entertaining piece of video.
Forward through to October and we’re told that Pandarens will indeed be the new playable race in 5.0. Not only that but you’ll be able to play them as either Horde or Alliance. Now I admit this is one of the things that peeved me when Cata came out since I was quite excited to play a Worgen – at least out of the starting zone. However, having to play an Alliance race just doesn’t sit right with me.
So here’s what you’ll see when the time comes to make a choice: (unless they change the text before now and then)
CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY
Choose to join the Horde and you will be blessed with companions uglier than you.
As a growing Pandaren you will be fighting alongside other races that also struggle passing though doorways.
If you like smack talk, raging in Barrens chat, and yelling catchy slogans you should become a member of the Horde.
Choose to join the Alliance and you will be blessed with many bake sales.
As a growing Pandaren you will be fighting alongside the shortest races in Azeroth.
If you like baking cupcakes and exchanging recipes along with long walks on the beach you should become a member of the Alliance.
We’ll Keep Trying!
The other big thing with the next x-pac is the pet battle system. Now I know you’re all thinking Pokemon battles since that’s what I hear from various sources. We’ll even look at hosting Pokemon Battles as a regular event with the elusive ‘Pokemon Master’ Medal to win.

So who’s going to have a Pandaren come next x-pac?
Having a break from WOW is something I recommend to everyone at some time of their lives. Esp. when you’ve been playing since vanilla. I can honestly say that the breaks I have taken for extended periods of time had mainly been due to holidays away or feeling burnt out/bored with the game.
Most recently you will know that Coolidge and I spent some time off and his most common response after talking about the game was “it was so peaceful for those 10 days.” Now granted a lot of you only play your alts in this Guild and most of you have killed the end boss in Firelands thus far. That’s great news and a small part of me wishes I could have been there to experience it with you, but pls keep in mind that this is the main Guild for a lot of us so when it comes to our weekend raids it’s still important that we can maintain progression and if we have a new kill one week, we expect to not go backwards in progression the following weeks.
I also realise that we all have RL issues and of course RL comes before game. However, pls let us know ASAP if you know you won’t be able to make the raid – or at the very least be late (leave early). Some of you are vigilant at doing this from using the Shoutbox, sms’ing or letting Cool +/or I know beforehand. So thx for that!
Just keep in mind that to have a cohesive environment for raiding and Guild camaraderie; good communication is in order as well as a somewhat serious attitude when it comes to raid progression. While it may be nice to top the meters during a boss fight, if the end result doesn’t see the boss killed then there’s something wrong here.
